     Hi,

My car recently told me that it needed servicing after 10000 miles, mainly town driving for most of the week but 1 or 2, 80 miles motorway trips a week.

The garage reset the indicator a couple of weeks ago as did not think it needed servicing but just check tonight and its reporting 14000 before service again. The garage said it will adjust itself to the correct figure and truly tell me if it needs services. Is that true?

How long do peoples GTi's normally go between services?

Your car should need servicing after 10,000 miles / 1 yr (time and distance plan) or 18,000 miles / 2 yrs (longlife plan). What does the drivers side door sticker or front windscreen service sticker say for the interval?

The sticker says it is variable service plan and another 2000 on the mileage to make it 12000. I am just wondering if they set it to time and distance plan then by mistake then only doing 10000.
