    Dear all,

It seems that the general use of swearing has been on the increase. We have a swear word filter in place but it seems some of you still, in particular some long standing members chose to circumvent this by using asterixs' or alternative spelling.

We would like to politely remind you ALL that swearing is not welcome on this forum. This has been an underlying rule on this site since it was first setup, which you agree to abide by when logging in.

We're all capable of posting without swearing so please be mindful of what you are posting. We have mentioned this in the past, but if the swearing does continue then we will start looking at deleting posts, not editing.

Appreciate that we are trying to run a clean and friendly forum here folks, and this sort of language does pull the place down somewhat. With the increasing activity on the forums it does become difficult to spot so we could encourage members to let us know of any offending posts via the reporting system.

    Thanks

    The uk-mkivs team.

Are you bothered about what the swear filter picks up Tabs? Or is it just the stupid deliberate mis-spelling of words?

Bit of both but more so the deliberate swerving the filter by some members.

Just drags the place down and helps to fuel the tyep of atmosphere that we really don't want conveyed on here.

What d'you want us to do (if anything!) if we see people persistently carrying on with it?  Is it worth using the Report Post feature?

Yes do report it if you see it. As much as we'd like to be omnipresent it's just not possible with the current setup.

    OK....

This is the one and only last warning to all those who think swearing and creative spelling to dodge the filter is big and clever.

We want to make it known that swearing on this site isn't welcome.

Therefore if it continues then posts will be removed. Further abuse will result in accounts being suspended.

We can all communicate without swearing and you're in front of a keyboard, not down the pub so do please think before you type.

    It's up to you.

Paul but its embarassing really. You've been on here long enough to know how the forum works so why would you wana break the rules and show the newbies. I think a tougher policy needs to be introduced regarding this issue as people are still not getting the message. Tabs would need do update what would happen if the rule is broken as warning them and removing their post is not enough in my opinion.
