Heyup lads,

My friends just bought a 1.9 mk5 and he wants to get it to a similar bhp to mine.

What bhp would a decat, a decent remap and a panel filter take it too hes hoping for around 170bhp+

any idea on the 0-60 times and if it would beat an a3 2.0tdi 140 dsg?

Very specific i know ;)

Id say, Decat + good air filter + stage 2 remap = 210-215bhp

But then the clutch 'might' need uprating

Dad secretly did this to my mum's GT170 for a few track days and the output was outstanding, the amount of extra torque was unbelievable.

99 1.6SR , R32 Front Bumper, LCR Splitter, Smoothed Anni rear valance, Milttek Cat Back Exhaust, Pipercross Ram air Induction kit, 1.8T MAF Kit, 1.8T Brake Upgrade, RS8 Wheels, Twin indicator mod, KW Variant 2 Coilovers.

Oh i see, i thought you meant it was at 170bhp already

no, if its just the standard 140 then your probably looking at 180

Its a 1.9 mate theyre only 105bhp standard.

The 1.9 105 will make 135- 140 ish around on a standard remap, maybe upto 150 with a milltek and filter. Turbo and injectors won't do anymore.

Hybrid turbo, Fmic, injector upgrade, milltek exhaust, air filter, and you could remap 180-190 ish. That's a serious amount of money, a 2.0 140/170 would be a better start. Straight remap would get you there.

2.0tdi insurance isnt very cheap for a 17 year old though saying that im 18 and i have a gt 170 dsg for £300 :)

A remap will really transform your mates 1.9. Not quite as fast as yours but nearly!!

I'd say your 0-60 would be around the 9 second mark, maybe high 8s- 8.9 on a unremapped 140. Remaps for the win!!

Beaing in mind... before i had my 1.9 remaped i could do 0-60 in 9.5 easily... i recon after remap its probably between 8 and 8.5sec!

And mine pulled 169 on AMDs rolling road... to be confirmed on Chipped UK rollers soon!

Its faster than the 140PD... probably just as quick as the 170PD

I forget but do you have bolt on mods richwig? I'm not saying your lying but I'm still shocked that a pd105 is making 170 bhp on the rollers. Intake temps must be high.

The 105PD has a FMIC so im sure the intake temps are OK... BUT and its a big BUT, im sure its on the edge of its capabilities! No other mods apart from filter which does naff all! Also the RR result was on BP ultimate-super-duper-cost-and-arm-and-a-leg-diesel!!

Having said that ive been thrashing mine around for just over a year with the map and its never missed a beat!

Like i say its gonna go on chipped uk rollers to double check it soon... not that im fused really... its rapid enough until i get a GTI DSG!!

Im sure it is that high.even if a rr is optimistic your still only talking 5-10bhp max difference! CC do know what they are doing too.

Average BHP between 3k and 5k is about 155bhp!

Im looking forward to seeing what chipped uk make of the map!
