id like to know if my mpg display is correct. this is the real time mpg not the average. when driving the car the real time mpg changes as it should but if i come to a complete stop and foot off the gas i still get a mpg reading on the real time display usually about 16mpg is shown. and when i start off again the real times change as it should. now correct me if im wrong but when coming to a stop and taking your foot off the gas the reading on the display should be 0 or --- not 16mpg?

also my fuel guage needle when the tank is completely full reads just under the last line, and when the car is off and the needles drop the   needle is then quite a bit under the first line, is there anyway to set this so it reads correctly

Had a similar problem, has the battery been low that you had to bump it? Sometimes a battery disconnect for about a minute or 2 should clear any "soft" codes logged. Worked for me.

just been out in the car and every now and then if i take my foot off the gas i get --- on the mpg reading, but when i stop it comes back up with the last mpg reading i had and stays there till i put my foot down. could this be a problem that is sorted by vagcom or is there any other reasons this may be doing this

For the dodgy reading on the fuel gauge check the lift pump connections. Been through any floods at any time?

Lift the rear seat bench. Lift the carpet flap on the drivers side. Remove the 3 posi screws and inspect the top of the fuel pump for silt and general contamination.

Refresh the electrical connection and spray with WD40 maybe. I've advised frodrizzle about this when he resurrected a flood damaged Anni. Fixed his erratic fuel gauge Yes

well i took the cluster out of the car and took it apart. i moved the needle by hand to the correct place, then plugged it all back in, the needles reset and it was back in the same place a bit under the 1st line in the guage. so with the dials all plugged in and the clear screen off i moved the dial again. turned the car on and off a few times and it stayed where i put it. now as soon as i disconnect it again reattach the clear screen then plug back in the dials do its reseting thing and its back under the 1st line on the guage. is there anyway to move the needle without unplugging it?
