"The World's fastest street legal Cosworth - became the first Cosworth to exceed 200mph reaching 201.8mph on the 16th September 2004 at Bruntingthorpe Testing Ground."

This is my m8's, fathers's car, and I have to say he sacred the crap out of me on the Basingstoke Ringroad a couple of weeks ago.  I won't say what speed he was doing, but I very much doubt I will be doing those speeds again unless I become a fast jet Pilot or my misses unbans me from ever getting in it again!

Here's a link if you are interested-  http://www.geocities.com/rtarry_uk/

My Golf felt very slow driving home that day and has done since!  My advice, don't get in it unless you want your idea of a quick car and comprehension of speed thrown out of the window!

    Enjoy

It does if you go to the videos tab.

Awesome car. I have always been a fan of the Cossie. Even a standard one could hold its own against most hot hatches and fast family saloons of today. Excellent exhaust note too!

"The 0-60 time is limited by lack of traction, but once past 100mph no production car is capable of living with its acceleration. 0-100 in 7.1, 0-150 in 13.3sec, 0-180 21.2 & 0-300kph in 22.95sec. have been officially recorded"

My mate had an Escort RS Cosworth with loadsa ponies and I recall even yet just how much notice it got and how easily it could mince Evo's and the like. Ace cars. Ford should bring the Cossie back.
