I believe you have to change your hubs to allow for the 5 stut of the wheels. VW's are 4 stud arn't they. Just realised i have never looked at this!

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...............................................

Maybe im wrong. They should fit either way. PCD is big, I think Thats pushing it a bit. Matbe 110 max, let someone else prove me wrong

Mate, these are not going to fit and sit flush.

ideally on a golf you want ET35 on a front wheel 8" width and Et30 for the rear 9" wheel.

The adapters would be 20mm thick, so you would get  the following offsets from those wheels with adapters:

    Front ET 45

    Rear ET50

i'm pretty sure the offset needs to be bigger around 50 so that a set of 30mm adapters would bring it down to 20mm and no rubbing.

you need to look at H&R adaptors these are the proper kit you need, with hubcentirc fitting so they don't wobble, but they are about £120 a pair!

you can fit porsche wheels to a golf, its been done many times before, porsche wheels are 5x130 and a golf is 5x100, you can get a few different types of adapters for these, i've seen the odd set on ebay for 50 quid a pair. only 5x100 wheels will fit in 5x100 wheels don't try anything else, they'll fall off!

check though i'm sure most porsche wheels come with a high offset allowing you to fit them. and i wouldn't go over 9.5 wide for the rears

Hi, thought i'd add to this thread.. I am getting some porsche wheels on the weekend, 17"  - 8" fronts with ET49 and 9.5" rears with ET52.

Currently the car is not lowered but will as soon as these are on, would have to be a decent drop as it would look kinda silly with the 17s.

I was wondering what size adaptors people would advise me to get?  Also, how low without arch mods can I go?

    Cheers,

    Neil

    I'm running Porsche fitment alloys, 18x8.5 F ET 52 and 18x9.5 R ET52. With 22mm 5x100 to 5x130 PCD adapters, giving me an effective ET of 30mm both F and R.

Rears stick outside the wing by about .75" and Fronts by about .333"

The wheels mentioned in the first post have a low ET, which will be made extremely low once PCD adapters are factorred in... And I would imagine make the wheels stick out a fair bit.

whilst on this subject, what spacers would i need? someone able to work it out

    OFFSETS AVAILABLE

    18X8: 42 , 48 , 25

What would be the best offset and spacers to suit? Just wanting the wheels to sit just on the guards/tiny bit out maybe?..

any info would be muchly appreciated as theres a very lack of knowledge in australia bout porsche rims goin on dubs lol (minus aircooled...)

Your best bet would be go for the 48mm offset and i know a place that does 15mm hub adaptors which would bring your offset to 33mm which is 2mm of the standard or you can easily get 20mm adaptors eg H&R or FK and that will bring your offset to 28mm which will push the wheel a bit further out the arch.

    Hope that helps

    hey dude, thanks for that.

looks like all i can get is the 42 offset ones prob i just found out. 18x8 all round.

so would i need 20mm for front (adapters) and 30s for the rear?

You basically want the smallest adaptors you can get ie 15mm or 20mm.

15mm on the front will give you an offset of 27,which will mean the wheel will probably stick out the arch a little. On the rears you shouldnt have a problem.

I'd say for pretty much certain that the wheels pictured aren't OEM Porsche, as the have a 5x100 PCD. More than likely Mille Miglia wheels.

R23, just found a few photos of your car- perhaps you can take a gander at my Operation OEM thread. Wow I love your car!! Am thinking of

Porsche or Porsche look a likes for Daily and RCs for Summer or shows? Also considering either an Anni valance (for the second time!!) or V6 splitter..

any of you Offset/adaptor Guru's have any advice for me, i got me some splits....(was going to keep quiet about it, but oh well...need the help lol)

1 - what adaptor size would i need, the rims are 18x8j et52 front & 18x9.5j et47 rear. i currently have a pair of 25mm fk auto's, whats the best combo. im not looking for mega mega poke but for it sit nicelyon the arch line if not a tiny bit out.

2 - i have 225/40/18's currently, whats good for a nice subtle poke?

    thanks ppl

ET47 with a 25mm adapter will give you an end ET22 so might be a little tucked so a 30mm adapter could be used

I'm a real noob with fittings on wheels, all kind of looks like numbers and letters that are pretty meaningless.

I can see how you've worked out the end ET of 22 but would you mind explaining what is what like ET and all the rest Andy ... please?

    OK from the top lol

PCD = How far the bolt holes are apart and how many their are so VW Mk4 Golf is 5 X100 so 5 holes being 100mm apart and so on up the range

ET = The distance from the CENTRE of the wheel to the flange that faces up to your break disc so an ET 35 means it 35mm from the back of this face to the centre of the wheel and the higher the number the larger the space and the smaller the number the less space you have and a thicker adapter you will need depending on how much poke you want or how much clearance you need from things like inner arches and shock absorbers.

    An ET65 + a 30mm spacer would give you a VW offset of 35mm

    EASY lol
