In response to being asked this by a number of people who want to know what happens if your car has been delocked and the remote locking stops working,is it the end of life as we know it?
No it isn't because we can hide a magnetic reed switch as shown below behind any piece of plastic trim anywhere on the car,and all we have to do is hold a magnet near to it to unlock the doors.
.
This is larger then life size, and they are typically only about half an inch long, and work when the contacts close up and complete the circuit when in the presence of a magnetic field,Maplins are a good source of these such as THIS one,but make sure you always get a normally open or N/O one.
You need to remove the drivers door card and locate the multiplex module as shown below, this is the only place we can pick up the central locking signals still in a good old fashioned negative pulse style before they are converted to CAN-BUS.

The unlock wire can be found on pin #4 of the multiplug as shown below, and is normally GREEN/RED,but could also be GREEN/BROWN or YELLOW/GREEN,but no matter what colour is it will always be on pin #4.

It can also be found where the loom runs towards the back of the car, which can be a bit easier to connect to.

We can test this by connecting it to ground,if we have the right wire the doors will unlock and the windows will wind down if we hold it to ground, and of course only if your car has total open/close fitted.
If you do this before your car is delocked even better,as the wire should go fully to ground or 0 volts when we turn the key to the unlock position, this can be done using the techniques in my "How to test" guide a little way down this section.
We need to connect a wire to this which will be connected to one end of the reed switch, the other end can be connected to any conveniant earth point, now if we hold a magnet near the reed swtch the doors should unlock and the windows come down if we hold the magnet there.
I'll leave it up to you where you hide the reed switch, but as already mentioned it has to be behind plastic (glass is also good) but not metal,it would be a good idea to make it somewhere that it isn't obvious what you're doing to get the car unlocked.
Chris.
P.S. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALTHOUGH REASONANBLY ROBUST,IT IS STILL POSSIBLE TO CAUSE DAMAGE BY CONNECTING TO THE WRONG WIRE,SO YOU DO ANYTHING I'VE TALKED ABOUT HERE ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK,IF IN ANY DOUBT PLEASE SEEK THE HELP OF AN EXPERT.
