Yeah, VW will invalidate your warranty, although it should only affect the warranty to parts that maybe affected by it and seeing as the DV doesn't directly affect your engine (affects the Turbo pressures) it shouldn't invalidate everything. VW would probably win though
I'm in a slightly different position to you as I can't really take off all of my modifications anyway.
Gaz, how did the fitting go? notice any difference?
Went fine, a bit fiddly finding a suitable spot for the solenoid, but got there in the end. I think there is a bit of difference, seems to hold the boost longer and without any fluctuations, and maybe spools up a bit crisper, could all be in my head though
The OE one was fine, which isn't bad for 10000miles remapped and 1000 of those with the fuel pump and map. Makes me think the location and heat play a big part of the failures on the regular GTi
