As above really, Another plan for the 4mo, RC's are definately coming off and pretty set on CH's to replace them but don't want issues with the Brembo's.

Has anyone fitted this combination please?

    Cheers

They would, but what do people always want SUV size wheels? you would need 500Bhp to overcome the weight, and same with 6pots. Look great but would hamper unsprung weight there like 355mm discs, 2-piece or not the weigh some, Id say 325 max with 4 pots, and they will still look good

     Hiya Wayne,

    hope your well mate?

As for the answer....definite yes. BBS CHs are an excellent wheel and have more than ample room to accomodate your brakes. In fact there is more room behind the CHs than RCs. I should know, as I have owned both types of wheels with BBKs. If your RCs clear then CHs most definitely will.

    1st Front Wheel Drive...
    Then Rear Wheel Drive...
Now it's 4 Wheel Drive... And I haven't stopped smiling

    Yeah, fine mate!

Just sorting some options re. RC's off etc

Looks like it'll be CH's all the way then!

Kev (RSGolf) used to have massive Porsche brakes behind his 19" CH's,  I believe with no issues and I would have thought they were bigger than the Brembos!

I meant to post a reply here earlier but forgot!!! Now that I have fitted the CH's I'm in a position to answer my own question!!

For the record the Brembo GT kit callipers (with 328mm discs) will NOT fit behind BBS CH 8.5x19" et30 wheels without spacers.

I've put 6mm spacers on but will reduce those in width when I measure the clearance I have to the calliper.

    CheersBig Smile

Dam if I seen the post I could have told you that you need at leat 3mm spacers I have 5mm hubcentric there is an option of shving a few mm off the caliper but they will require repainting..  I have 19" BBS CH with Brembos from a Cupra R.  The Porcshe calipers off the boxster S will fit though without spacers.

Are you using any form of adapter ring for the hub to wheel? I haven't got any for mine and they seem like they could do with some! I have some 5mm Hubcentrics to try which I'll keep on I think once I get around to fit them!! The 3mm spacers I had didn't give clearance to the caliper.

I'd love to know about the adaptor rings though if possible....especially if they have a part number...

I would have to disagree with that statement to be honest

the 355mm i have ate lighter than the standard 323mm seat leon discs and are almost the same weight as a 256mm rear vented disc so you can throw that theory out the window for a start

Tam has brembo 4pot's using 355mm discs under 18" CH's so i see no reason why not

    Hey Andy,

Take it from me (about 5-6 posts up) they don't fit without 5 or 6mm spacers!!

Agree with your disc theory though.

must have missed that bit then lol

i was stunned at how light the 355mm were when i got them iirc about just over 1KG lighter than the LCR 323mm disc if not 1.5KG

LCR wheels WILL fit without spacers and so will the OZ baby's i have but tolerances are VERY tight Devil

Hi mate what do yu meant adapter ring do you mean the lastic huncentric ring stuck in the middle of the wheel so the wheel fits bang on the ring of the hub and if so yes I do they are original BBS rings and you should have got them with your wheels bud.  If not there are a few places on ebay that sell them you just tell them what wheels you have and they will post them to you. The previous spacers I had were 3mm and just fitted TBH they did only have .5 mm space left on the wheel and after I painted the calipers again they took a coat f the paint off so I got some huncentric 5 or 8mm ones to be sure.

    Discs

I have the same 355 discs two piece brembo's as Andy and they are exactly 1.2kg lighter then my old 323mm ECS grooved discs.

Yes, it's the plastic ring that sits in the centre of the wheel that I am after, I didn't get them with the wheels unfortunately. I've checked on ebay with no luck...

    Car looks aweome,

Off topic but you should consider adding the miltek r32 manifold, you have wicked mods and you should see an aditional 10bhp and even more torque! i remember when they took mine out and put the new ones in, theres a huge weight difference the standard ones are very heavy aswell as the pipes going to the size of pea shooters!

Cars looking great mate... as for the comment made by pete about the manifolds 100% worth it in my book. torque shot straight up in mine and midrange is much much smoother and pulls away much nicer in 3rd to 6th i still maintain 1st and 2nd gear in these 4mo's are definetly not right. anyone know if a R32 box will be a straight fit and what the benefits are. i know the final drive is lower and first gear ive been told is longer can anyone confirm? sorry for the hijack

Get some shots of the engine bay mate. would love to see it! and im sure everyone else would too

The mk4 R32 manifolds go straight on then do they? I must admit it's about the only mod left that I want to do, I'll kep my eyes peeled for some. Did the exhaust note change at all when you fitted them?

I have got some pics of the engine, I'll post them later on.....

1st gear is quite useless in mine, it pulls so quick and could do with being a tad longer...I don't know of anyone who's tried/put an R32 box on the 2.8 lump?

Yes they fit straight on although I was told it's a slag of a job to get them in. As for the sound I can't say as I got all of it done in one go. But everyone I know with them loves em

The R32 manifolds are a straight fit, as is an r32 gearbox,

You may also like to know that the gear ratios are the same, Big Smile

Sorry for the total hijack but pete are u sayingg they are the same? I'm sure I read they were quite different on vortex somewhere. Woult it be beneficial to put a 32 box in? I hate 1st and 2nd on the 4mo. They are so short and feel so weak. Sometimes redlining 1st I feel like the box is going to drop off the side of the engine.

well i think they are, this is why, i read about the top speed of each gear  for the r32 then went out and noticed that they are all identical to mine?

I know theres a guy on the the r32oc with a 3.6 conversion and he has the 2.8 box because he believes the ratios are longer! lol! there must be a way of finding out but from my test they are the same,

Also the r32 does have a close ratio box o it wouldnt make sense to put an even close one on the cruiser model,

If you really wanted you can pick one up for £500.
