Hello chaps, here's a new thread for August.

Swindon, Lydiard Park, Sunday 10th August from 2pm - map here - (At M4 J16 roundabout, head for Swindon.  At next roundabout, go left. At lights (200yards) go left (Signposted).  Up about a mile on the right).

Everybody - feel free to come to my house (2miles away) afterwards for a BBQ, weather permitting - bring your own food.

AS ALWAYS>>> If you have an unwanted 'G' as in 'GTI' or 'GOLF,' please bring it!

    Attendees so far...

Richw - Maybe (With a pin remover for cruise?!)

chris_golfse - Maybe, depending on work commitments.

I should be there, but not in the Golf.

Also, does anyone have a spare set of original MK4 Golf lights I could borrow.  Still cannot get my dipped beam working and would like to try another set  before buying new ones.

     Hi guys.

Just bought another mk4 Golf after a horrible six months driving a diesel Renault scenic.  What was i thinking!!  I could be up for this meet.  Went to a few of the Reading meets when I had my PD115 but never been to a Swindon one.

Anyone fancy helping me fit Cruise to my PD130? Smile  First on my list of mods to do.  Know anywhere selling the stalks cheap?

Always good to have another member mate.  We'd need an afternoon to properly do cruise - I've done cruise on 3/4 cars and a few other members have done similar, so give us plenty of notice and we'd be happy to help (I'm kind of speaking for everyone, but they won't mind!)  Also, we'll need a wire removal tool too, otherwise it's a nightmare! Can't remember where it is or where to get it though... guys, any ideas?

Yeah, it's the stupid long pronged thing for removing the wiring pins, the nightmare we had with Andy's is coming back... also, wiper removal would be good, but I rckon we could wriggle it off.

Someone with VAG-COM would be good wouldn't it SIMON?!

I thinik this is the stalk - here

And here is some of the wiring - here

In general, you need parts that start with 1J0 = MkIV Golf. (1J5 is Bora)

Best thing to do would be to call them tomorrow and they'll get you all the parts and include the discount in the final price.

Sorry, those links don't work.  Go to vagparts.com, click online shop, then Parts Catalogue, then Sat Nav Parts - CD Changers - Cruise Stalks... etc, then CC Stalks.  It's the 2nd and 3rd items on the list.

Nah, we're generally very good.  We had 11(ish) last time, 12 the time before, 9 before that.  Bad weather normally means about 6 of us though!  There is a hard core few of us that go to almost every meet.

To be fair though, at least some of us did, we could've just moaned about the location/name of the meet etc!

    Hi All,

I'd love to come to this, but sadly the date clashes with Sanctuary festival in Winchester and I already have my ticket...

Hopefully I'll be a bit better in Sept and catch ya at the following meet.  Smile  (It was feb last time I attended).  Embarrassed

Wow lots of posts since I last came on lol.

I'm game for fitting another cruise control to a fellow ASZ Yes (that will be the third ASZ, little fact there Smile)

Sean_Jaymo, yea the Southwest 'megameet' was a bit dissapointing from our end. We're usually pretty good! Hopefully that'll show for the next one!

Did I hear cruise control fitting? Big Smile  I've still got to do mine...

I may be able to get to this, not 100% sure at the moment though.

Cool, looks like this should be a good meet! Might make up for the poor show down in the southwest lol.

VR6Rich, saw your car on show at the VW/Audi Track Day Yes

Paddeh, will look forward to seeing them. Though you'll probably have to point 'em out because I think i've only seen your car once, brean meet I think. Sexy car though!
