Hi guys got 1.9 tdi when i put it in gear, first and second i have loads of play, its like its in neautral.

also my m8 had a golf and his gears were much smoother than mine, i had a new cluth and gear box about 10 months any ideas what this could be??? 

i have the same problem as you i recently change some of the gear linkages leaver arms as they have plastic clips on that get worn and crack it tightened it up slightly but theres still play in the gear linkage

  will be intresting to follow this thread as it may also resolve my problem,if i fix the problem first then i will tell you how i did good luck

 ok m8 yea cheers, my car is in the garage now wear i got my clutch done, i will ask them see wot they say

 has there been any joy yet as to the problem, did the garage tell you what the problem was and did they fix it would be god if you could let me know thanks

 nah mate they not sure what it is, am going have to take it to a different garage, i just think its the linkages
