     Hiya everyone.

I new on here, only 19, name is samantha, but please call me sam,  not long passed test, got a nice little 1.4 which i luvvvv. I also know absolutley NOTHING about cars and all this stuff Surprise, so if i do ask any questions, you'll have to explain it to me like you would explain it to a 5year old Tongue Tied.

I'm having a couple of problems with my speakers at the mo, cuz i found out there wasnt actually any back speakers, which was a bit of a shock when my dad took my door panel off, so i'm in the market for new ones, dont really wanna spend to much to be honest, so any ideas??? Also, what would be better/easier....rear door speakers, or parcel shelf ones??

I really appreciate all the help your help.

    Thanks!!

    Sam.

Hi Sam welcome to the site i'd go for door speakers rather than shelf ones,if you got them on the shelf certain people will see them then think there must be a decent head unit in the car & possibly break into it.get door speakers then a sub & amp in the boot

Mods too many to fit on here !!

Welcome to the forum, loads of helpful people on here with decent guides and how tos.  Guaranteed you'll find the answers you need here!

One of the guys on here built 8" subs in to the rear mounts, and upgraded the front speakers - looked totally standard and apparently sounded pretty good.

Hi Sam - welcome to the forums.

I recently replaced my door speakers with some bought from this eBay store: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/southsidecaraudioshop. I can recommend them.

They do some specifically for mk4 Golfs for about £35, or some better ones for about £60. They come with all the relevant wires and fittings. Just drop them a message via eBay and they should be able to sort you out. Smile

From a quick search,i think the car came with the Beta head unit, this was only front speakers from factory. So there won't be any wiring fitted as std.

If there was,it would be a plug that would simply plug into the speaker

Thanks. Nah there definatly wasn't a plug there. Gutted!! Sad So would it be awkward  to wire it all up then? Want to try to avoid taking it somewhere to get it fitted to be honest, cos of the money. When i buy some speakers will they come with the plug that your refering to?
