Having a serious braking issue here lads in my 1.9tdi 130bhp sport bora.

All 4 brake calipers are locking leaving me with a serious amount of smoke teeming from them!

Has anyone experienced this before? and would know the solution?

I think if 1 caliper siezed it would boil the fluid, the fluid would expand and lock the other brakes.... or the master cylinder is siezing?

The reason i thought 1 might be stickin is that the front left wheel is far hotter than the others.

Away now to try greasing up the front pistons but if anyone has any insight into this please let me know. Thanks.

Sounds like a balance bias valve or master cylinder rubbers - another possiblity is the Servo vacuum pipe from the engine has a non return valve which may be faulty and continuing to boost pressure.

Or ABS pump or ecu faulty - would any of these show up on Vagcom?

There now i took the calipers off and pushed the piston in and out and lubed them up, but didnt find the pistons sticking in any way.

The only thing i found that was slightly strange was that on the inner side of the discs (both sides of the car) the discs and pads have both worn funnily. Closer in towards the hub the disc is worn at a normal level, but out at the edge of the disc (the last 10mm of the diameter) it is worn much less, and this is mimiced by the pads.

As well as this the passenger side inner pad had a small section missing from its egde!? broken off it looks Confused

The heater plug light was flashing, and 'engine managment' on the display, but when plugged into the snap-on computer its claiming a broken wire somewhere or faulty dials. Think i should invest in a vagcom cable lol. Anyway, the light was put out this morn and hasnt come on again yet. ABS light was not appearing at all.

I think the next step may be master cylinder.... but this servo pipe, does it run from the sphere on the front of the engine? I'm not very up to date on these engines, could tell your the ins and outs of a peugeot xud9te engine no bother at all, but never fiddled with the bora at all!

Grim, took her a drive there now, light came back on.

Not sure if the brakes are slightly binding or not now though lol

It might, but this would actually have opposite affect to what you're guessing. It will give sponge.

And this will not be transferred to the other wheels.

Sounds like a problem higher up the brake system. i.e. cylinder, servo and so on.

That sounds like a tough one mate.

I hope the Master Cylinder sorts it. If not, can you get it to an MOT station to see if the brake bias is even?
