     Hello.

They only experience problems due to ill fitting, if your looking to replace yours, you can get a forge one, or look on ebay, you can get a "copy forge one" (who apparently actually made it in the first place before force stampedtheir name on it) .

You get a green or yellow spring with it, if your running over 20psi boost, use a yellow spring. Use good hose clamps and you should have no problems.

I can imagine people don't fit them the right way or something, but its pretty difficult to get wrong!

Ive already got a baileys one and wont be fitting it myself so hopefully it should be ok. It came with a full fitting kit so the garge should be able to deal with it

Depends whether you mean a diverter valve or an atmospheric valve. The Bosch valve on modern VAG engines is a diverter valve, and although some people have had success using an atmospheric valve, many have also encountered problems.

Do a search as I'm sure this has been covered lots. Not just on this forum.

The 1.8T 20v engines are not designed to run atmospheric dump valves which is why VW designed them with the closed loop diverter valve.

I have tried and tested about 6-8 dump valves and diverter valves since been on the Dub seen and no atmospheric valve has ever really been and good. although they didn't effect the performance too much you definatley with notice the fuel consumption.

I have an AGU and they can get away with the atmospheric without any errors but the AUm engines won't be able to run them at all as will cause too many errors.

if you want the atmospheric noise but don't want any errors or problems id say get the Forge Split R valve that way you get the noise and it still vents some boost back past the MAF keeping it happy n you trouble free! Failing that cos they are pricey just go for a Cold Air Feed induction kit and a Forge 007P or Bailey DV30 diverter valve and trust me that'll be loud enough for ya it'll turn heads.

The Bailey diverter valve is alot louder than the Forge just in case you want loudness.

The Bailey DV30 is a full recirv valve, so are you saying it's louder but only when used with an induction kit? As on it's own there is no atmospheric release

I ask because I'm looking to get one for my 1.8t :)
