I recently bought some coilovers for my Golf GT TDI 115. I bought the Hot Tuning ones from a seller in Belgium. I have had them fitted and it looks great lowered, just how i wanted it. I now have a few problems. They have been on the car for about 2 weeks now and over the last few days i have started to get a horrible noise coming from the rear.

The best way to describe the noise as a rubbing noise, it sounds like rubber.... rubbing!. If i open the boot and push down hard on the car you can hear the noise, it kinda sounds like a squeak ?

When you drive the car it gets much louder and just sounds like something is constantly rubbing against something. It gets worse when going round corners. I have also just noticed that when i get to around 40mph i can hear a loud whurring noise coming from the back, that sounds as if one of the windows is open slightly or one of the doors?

Does anybody have any ideas because this is driving me crazy!

Oh and by the way, the rear axle bushes was changed about 2 months ago

    Thanks in advance!

Is the tire touching either the plastic inner arch just inside the top of the outer side of the arch?

Does nobody else have any ideas ? It is definitely rubber rubbing against something, when you push the car down you can hear it.

Do the new coilovers need time to settle in or something ?

I only had the rear axle bushes done about 2 months ago, surely they cant be shot already ? How can i tell if they are

    Cheers mate

Mate I had a similar sound I bought a set of j-tec coilovers off of ebay and almost instantly the rear shocks started squeaking when going over humps and or driving slowly.

3 months later and much faffing about I replaced the rear shocks and the squeak went away.

    Cheers Afro

I think it might be the rear shocks to be honest, it does sound like its coming from them. I was hoping that it might just be that they are new and that they will wear in after a while and maybe this noise will go away

Do you think the noise might go away after a while or is it just because they are cheap coilovers ?
