Had to disconnect my battery today. 

Now that everything is sorted and the battery reconnected, where I used to see MPG in the display, I'm now seeing the "engine on" uptime (the 1h 11min readout above the temperature).

Can't really see any option to change this back in the settings menu. Help...

Is it not selectable on the stalk like the MKIV?

Surely it's just a case of pressing the up and down arrows on the right hand stalk as PJ said.

My midline cycles through MPG, speed warning, distance possible on tank, uptime, etc.

well strike me down with a feather, I was looking under the settings menu and couldn't see anything to change the screen. Just pressing on the arrows without entering the settings menu like you said sorted it.

There are also two separate memories.

Memory 1 is the "trip" memory which resets after you have left the vehicle with the ignition switched off for two hours or more.

Memory 2 resets after 999,999 miles or something like that.

On cars with steering wheel mounted controls, pressing the "OK" button briefly will alternate between displaying memory 1 and memory 2. Holding the "OK" button down for two seconds will reset the currently selected memory.

I presume that stalk controlled cars have an equivalent to the "OK" button.
