I'm looking into buying a Golf GTI Turbo, and I'm not very vamiliar with the models at all.

Basically i want my gti turbo to come with all the heated leather seats, electric windows and air-con etc.

But i have seen on other forums that some of the years have different engines. I'm looking for advice on which year to look for from a modifying point of view, im aiming to get one up to around 250bhp for the fore-see-able future and this looks relatively cheap to do with the adition of an exhaust sytem an airfilter, a dump-valve and a re-map...

can anyone advise me on what i should do?

 As for which model to go with well its up to you....but i am sure the the early AGU engined golfs had a bigger port head which if i am right leaves more oppertunity for expansion on power.

But to get to 250BHP you will require a lot more than what you have listed above

I would think that maybe either a K03s hybrid turbo would get you there with:

Turbo back exhaust

Turbo intake pipe

Front Mount Intercooler or uprated side mount

and a good live remap.

or a K04 turbo conversion but then your talking about a lot of money as you need new pipework. best thing to do is a small search on here about gaining more power and you will soon see how easy it is to destroy the bank balance

 yes this helps on the modifications side of things, still need advice on which year has the best engine in it to start off with and also the in-car extras i want??
