hey there..In a bit of a state with my motor. The front wheels are spinning in the wet from take off in 1st gear. Also having this loss of traction and spinning of front wheels when I rev up to take a turn in 1st and 2nd gear. The esp light flashes a couple of times then goes off and the car jerks a bit. this hasn't  happend before and now i'm wondering if the 4motion system is working or is there a fault somewhere. Tyres are in good nick. How do check if the 4motion system is working without hooking it up to vagcom. I dont have any warning lights on as well. Thanks for any and all info.

    Get VAGcom on it ASAP.

This was happening to me.....I had to buy a new Haldex Module (£600 new) but I was lucky and found one on Ebay for £80.

It may be something like the Haldex fuse has blown (side of dash) or Haldex connector/sensor.

Go to the Resource facility on top of the page, select download and open the VAGcom User Location List and PM anyone who lives near you.  Dealer will charge you £60+ for VAGcom.

    Sorry mate Sad

I still have this issue, been a long time, check out my link at the bottom.

The fuse is no 30 looking at the vagcom print out first thing is to check the plug to the haldex controller, then clear all the faluts and see what comes back. mine shows nothing at all on vagcom the only one i ever got was the "no communication" one which was a poor connection in the plug, have sorted that but still have a 2motion!

There was some sort of advisary somewhere suggesting filter every 20k and oil every 10k, rather than filter every 40k and oil every 20k, i just do both at 10k intervals

what would be the symbol for the fuse? Also i've read about some connection between the haldex and the brake light switch. If the brake light switch is faulty, would the brake lights still work??

From what I understand if the brake light switch is faulty it could cut the power because the ECU thinks the brake is on and you can't accelerate and brake at the same time

ok so there is a link between the 2, but will the brake lights still work if the switch is faulty? the reason i ask is because all my brake lights are working.

the switch can stop operating the lights, i had it once ( on my 3rd switch) where if you braked too hard the lights went back out, really safe! If any one of the 3 lights dont work its the light itself. the switch send a signal to all 3 at the same time
