I'm too old to throw shapes so I chose 2.

(unless there's a seating area at the side of the dance floor)

I got a group of 20 mates together last Christmas and we went to one of those hotel Christmas do's.  The ones that small companies (that are not big enough to rent the whole venue) go to.

There were about 15 tables of 20, we had a massive meal and then there was a DJ type thing with dance floor (and lots of copping off with office girls from other "companies")

That's what our company ends up doing - it was Tatton Park 2006 and Lowry 2007.

Are you wanting me to add this as an option on the Poll?

I voted number 2 because I don't do dancing unless I'm really drunk - and when I do it's really not big or clever of me Sad

Also, going out and getting drunk would mean stopping over in town which would be expensive. Could try talking Gary into giving me a lift back to Burscough Bridge in one of his trains after they've finished running for the night Confused Chuckle

What about an afternoon doo? we all get shedded in Manchester/Liverpool and then if anyone's not up for staying over, they're still able to get trains home having had a good day out.

Couple of lunchtime drinks till everyone arrives, all-you-can-eat buffet to line the tums and then crawl around some bars. Cheap, fun and practical... prehaps in fancy dress?

    Yes

Mine's white and has some stuff.

Sounds good Mike... A Leo Sayer, haven't been on one of those in town for ages.

Last train back to Poynton works well too.

There's nothing funnier than giving drunk people a lift home.

Leo Sawyers are ace, people can come and go as they please through the course of the day, doesn't have to be locked down to one place and generally isn't that expensive.

We have 2 xmas doos, the formal one in some fancy place which is generally ruined by high level management crawling out of the woodwork and crashing it, and our 'invite only' Leo style one around Manchester, pretty much in the same format as above... needless to say which one everyone looks forward to!

CkB - get your ass up, you can always stay at mine if necessary.

    Yes

I've added this as an option on the Poll but don't know if it's possible to reset the votes and start again as I'd vote for that but already voted for the Manc night out.

This would be my number one choice now, maybe we re-start the poll?

The best "Leo" we had was an unplanned one, I met a few mates in town one Sunny Saturday while the WAG's were shopping.  It was intended to be just a few pints and a sandwich in The Living Room on Deansgate.  The next thing I remember was staggering out of the Rain Bar hammered at last orders and getting on the last train home.

That's the beauty of this, throughout the afternoon, some left and some more arrived, all it took was a text to find out where we were.   That would work perfectly here as we wouldn't have to pin anyone down to a specific time as Mike said above.

Also at Christmas we have the advantage of the German Christmas Markets... Gluvine, Steins of beer and Bratwurst.  Just dont try and get me on the big wheel again. (puke)

I'm pretty excited now, Christmas is a while off.  I think we should have a trial run.
