     Hi i have just bought a K&N panel for my 1.4 golf, just noticed that the airbox isnt visible under the bonnet lol. Can anyone advise me on how to get to the airbox?

     You gotta take off the whole of the plastic engine cover. There's a thread on here somewhere.

    I'd be interested to see if you feel any difference with the panel filter fitted... can you keep us posted when you have it all fitted and working please.

    Doubtfull he'll feel anything tbh,although i owned mk3 escort once and before i got my first golf i removed the filter and took it for a spin(wasn't arsed as i picked the golf up in 1 week),the results shocked me.It sounded awesome(carb without filter),and it flew got 70 in second gear lol.

    Haha, bet that sounded fantastic! I don't expect he will see much gain, but I would be interested to know anyway. It's a simple and cheap thing to do so if it makes things better then I may as well!

    Probably won't get rid of it all together though... did anything happen to your escort after you removed it?!
