     hey!

right, as part of being the liquidGOLF virgin, here is what will hopefully become the liquidGOLF resource thread. i will photograph and document every step of the way for this project.

so, let me begin by pointing you to where it comes from:

    http://racediagnostics.com/cms/

first off i bought the kit and i've sent off my original GOLF drivers side vent/surround piece.

why have i sent it off?

as part of the "exchange" you send off your vent to be modified ready to fit the liquidGOLF screen. there are no pics in existance yet of this vent. this thread will show you them first. but only when the vent comes back!

    today this came:

kit consists of the screen, lead and CD with manuals on. also a mysterious envelope. haven't opened it yet (got small bits in it!) i'll open it on day of fitting.

at the moment i'm just waiting for the return of the vent. if it comes by saturday morning. the kit will be going in this weekend.

as this is the first, there will be problems along the way. one, already pointed out and already in motion to be rectified is the lead.

the lead supplied in the kit has the OBDII end with the cable coming straight out. the problem with that is i won't be able to put the cover plate back on, will i?

a right angled OBDII lead is already on its way. i will demonstrate both leads in this thread.

personally, i can't wait for the vent to get here. seeing the pictures and videos on the race diagnostics website has enforced this.

plus i'm just chuffed i'm the first!

if you've got any queries then don't hesitate to post on this thread. this is the build up thread and i will answer as best i can either by trying it or knowing the answer.

plus FreeGeek a.k.a Jim @ Race Diagnostics will on hand to tell me what to do! Big Smile

thats all for now, next update will be the vent.

    coming soon i hope!

    cheers

    jammy

Is this going to be more exciting and run to more posts than the famous Pistonheads Nazi bunker thread?

    still no vent......

right, after the mission on my headlights, i plugged it in.

    yes it powers up.

    yes it works.

oil temp doesn't seem to do anything and lambda is upto 1.5

but 0-60, boost gauge, they all work fine!

no pics. as i was on my own.

    will sort some out asap.

    but its a lovely toy!
