How hard is it to change the Slam panel?

     Does anyone know if there is a thread on here i have looked but cant fine one. I need to replace the slam panel but not sure how much work is involved. New part arrives tomorrow.

     Try here: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=54324 - it's also called the "lock carrier".

    You will need two pairs of axle stands - one to support the front of the car when jacked up, and the second pair to support the radiator and air con condensor assembly.  If you have a GTI, and need to remove and/or replace the lock carrier, it would be wise to upgrade the standard intercooler to the better S3 one.
