As title. Ive removed the plastic grill type cover hundreds of times but this time i managed to break a few of the tabs that lock it into position so now i need a new one. Does anybody know the part number or a place to get one or do i have to buy the whole vent unit.

    Thanks

I haven't verified this, but you can with a VW dealer. I was bidding on a centre console last week on ebay.

"VW Golf Mark 5 Air Vent and Radio/Heater Surround Trim

I am selling the Air Vent and Radio/Heater Surround Trim from a VW Golf Mark 5.  It will fit most variants with climate control (check the 3 circular heater controls).

    Part numbers are: 1K0 819 728 J 1QB Air Vent (trim surround only); 1K0 858 069 L 1QB (radio/heater trim)."

     Nice one. Smile

This is on my to do list as I too was a bit heavy handed when removing.

    Anyone want an Air Freshener?

If I remember correctly (it's 6 months since I whipped the radio out), there are different part numbers for different colour trim (black/silver).   But if you look on the back side of the plastic, there is a small part number moulded in somewhere.  Certainly was on mine.
