    Crying [:'(] just bought a golf gti turbo,but guess what when u flick the bonnet release catch its supposed to release a cable/lever that u pull from above the VW logo,mine doesent have one any ideas where i can get one of these plz!

    Did you buy it private or trade? I guess a VW specialist or dealer would have to do this one.

    How do you open the bonnet without it then?

    That's what I was thinking. Which is why I asked private or trade as if it was a provate sale, you really should have popped the bonnet when buying! If it was a trade sale, same still applies, but you should be able to take it back.

    I can't understand how you bought a car and didnt notice this one? Unless you have broke it yourself?

    I can't be;ive what i have just read. You bought a car and didn't even look at the engineTongue Tied [:S] Why didn't you have a look or get someone to check it over before you bought it?

     

    I hope that's all thats wrong?. I would take it to a garage and get them to give your car the once over.

    sorry folks i did look at the engine got a hpi and all that! i just slide me finger in and pull the latch towards me! opens very easy!

    before you get carried away, you have tried lifting the bonnet slightly haven't you? On my car the lever doesn't pop out until I do that.

    That's true actually, you do have to lift the bonnet slightly for the tab to pop out for you to pull and release the bonnet.

    yeah i have! as ive said ive opened it b4 just a lil fiddly u see! there is the lever missing! i think i can make one u know!

    Also part number for it is 1J0 823 593 C  £2 + VAT on etka so only a few bound for it really.

     think i saw one on ebay the other day i think it was the hole bonnet release catch

    Rather push a VW than drive a Vauxhall
