i would only fit the armrest part which comes apart from the console, its much easlier to fit than fit the complete unit in the picture, your console in your car will be the same as the one in the picture, take your existing rear console section out and fit the armrest, as soon as you take your rear console section out you will see the screw holes were the new armrest will go. you may need more screws . i fitted my armrest just by having a look at were the screw holes are located, and i wouldnt worry about fitting the rear fan pipe work. or get a good mechanic to take the complete console out and fit the new parts, but may cost a few quid to do so

If you look in this section there is a guide to fitting the entire armrest.

It took me about three hours including fitting the pipe to get the rear vents to work but they are not very powerful so I wouldn't bother if I were you - so I guess you could have it all done in an hour and I would also fit the ashtray and cover too it would be a shame not to

Thats how to install "euro" cupholder and it might help taking the center console apart. I needed that to remove the tiptronic gear knob (exept that that doesnt mention anything about a plastic clip on the bottom of the stick holding the knob in place but anyway), installing the cupholder and armrest.
