fit like everybody another question for yi,s. as you know am changing engines in my 150pd arl golf and i was thinking of putting on an allard race pipe so i can take the egr valve out! but iv heard this can cause the engine managment to come on?Confused is this true and is there any gains from putting one on???. and has anyone got a powerflow exhaust on theres? the thing is my one has a loud whistle from it at around 3500rpm i have the twin 3" ovals on back and car still has the cat fitted. would it benifit from a large bore decat(allard) and would it get rid if the noise? my cousin has a 306 hdi with a powerflow too and his also has a whistle to it up the revs.cheers

No problems getting rid of the egr. No warning lights on mine and a good mod imho. Not sure about the exhaust but just put a cat free downpipe on mine and again I think its worthwhile.

I didn't fit the Allard race pipe, but I did blank off the EGR and I do get an ECU fault and "emissions workshop" everytime I start the car. Hope to remove the blanking plate this weekend....

I had an Allard stage 3 conversion fitted recently.  The garage changed the map so the light went out.

just read that the anti shudder is removed when you fit the allard pipe

    what does this mean?

It means the car jolts a little when you turn the ignition off. Its nothing more than closing a door. Renault diesels dont have the anti shudder. I wouldnt worry too much about it.

When i replaced my allard pipe, i cleaned the intake manifold aswell. The car became alot more responsive. On my test strip (LOL) i can now hit 85 with a full tank and 1 passenger, before i was lukcy if i seen 80 with a full tank and no passenger.

Soaked it in a box of parafin for a few days. Then rinsed it down with hardcore degreaser i got from a mates garage.

Probably no more but you will go back closer to what it should be, if you remove all the gunk.

Makes it easier, you dont want big lumps of chod going into the engine.
