Well, seeing as it only took me 30 minutes to get home, I'll be the first to say that I had a great time this weekend. It was my first time and I enjoyed it very much even though the weather was poo. It was good to see people again and the stand was impressive... Yes

Big thanks to Blondie for lending me a bed and for Greg and Chris who helped me with my tent. Also thanks to Jon for the wonders of VAG-COM.

Oh and not forgetting Tabs and his wonderful culinary skills!

Sadly, there were only two things that threatened to spoil my weekend. 1) I don't know who was behind me (but I could do with speaking to them) when I went sideways round a roundabout. I really wasn't pushing it at all and suddenly I was heading sideways towards the kurb, my heart was in my mouth! The car felt like it was on ice so I can only assume something was on the road... Crying

    2) The stupid cow on the roundabout that leads to the M1 texting on her mobile and cutting me up completely! Angry Jon was behind me at this point I think.

Apart from that, a good weekend was had and I look forward to the pics... Big Smile

If it doesn't fit, spit on it and try again.

*HONK HONK*     <== that was especially for Amanda!

Anyway I was home even before that and got up around the time of that post.  Car is unpacked, and I'm about to pack the funbus (Xsara picasso thing from work!) up to go to Bristol all week!  And yes I'm running late (I'm on a tea break in case you're wondering why I'm here then!)

Friday night Mikey and me held the fort for uk-mkivs - the whole two of us with the Wii and Fabian and a couple of the PhatDubs people (who we owe big for squeezing 4 more into the camp when the Saturday Slackers rolled up to a full field Wink)... Saturday night I must apologise for my party-pooper-ness.  Was too scared of getting too drunk to drink much, and so wussed out early on that front.  Lots of respect for Mike (vwspeed) for the generator, Wii and Projector too (even if we had to scrounge a kettle cable off of VR6OC on Friday night!)

The show as ever was damn good - the good old Saturday night sweat box was back and rammed I hear, and from wandering around the car areas today there was some bloody awesome stuff.

Helen (Blondie for those of you not in the know!) - I never found the TTR8 btw which is a shame - did you smuggle anything home with you??

Having focussed on drinking (and parking cars) I forgot I had a camera with me, but I know Greg (austin21) was flashing like mad (with his camera that is, and no tripod thankfully) as did Jon (harvetsduvet) so hopefully there'll be some good stuff of last night, and the world and his wife had cameras today so we'll see loads of the cars I hope!

Until next year (I think that's it for camping) it's good night from me, although talking to Rob (Redbeard7) and Greg (aus...) I may make a guest appearance oop Norf if I can blag it later in the year!

    Cracking as always, t'ra folks!

    C

PS - Amanda (m00!) talked the talk last night with the bowling before failing miserably... SO nearly came last too Wink

    Shh! Embarrassed

I did fail miserably and I don't mind admitting it, although Jon was suddenly full of flukes and I'm questioning his technique... Confused

I'll get you next time Mr!

Home now, showered and fed and feeling an awful lot better!

What a brilliant weekend though - loads of fun, loads of nice car and I had  really good time and even today's rain didn't really spoil it for me.

Massive thanks to CkB and Mike bagsie-ing us a camping spot as we'd really have been struggling to find room otherwise.  Also thanks to Mike for the Wii - first time I've played one and it was ace!  m00 - I hustled you good and proper on the bowling! Stick out tongue

Just sitting down to go through my photos - have got a fair few and quite a lot of that tree in the middle of the night!  Might try and get a few posted up tonight if I get chance.

    Jon.

Myself, Wellsy and Gary had a fun trip down this morning in the fog and then it rained the minute we entered the grounds.

Good to see everyone today, just a shame the weather was pants although surprisingly I wasn't cold Party!!!

This was my first time at E38 and I'd go again next year but just hope that the weather is better next time round.

Had an equally fun drive back, stopping off for Toby Carvery on the way home which was spot on.

Many thanks Wellsy for picking me up and taking me Yes

It scared the crap out of me to be honest. I took the same line as Tabs and just lost the back end and then the front. I'm ok though but I've lost a bit of confidence now... Sad

Smashing time had today.  Weather was brill and didn't ruin the day thankfully.   Wish I'd been able to stay over, looks like the over nighters had fun.   Oh well there's always next year.

The Sunday roast was just what the doctor ordered on the way home.   Traffic home was a bit pants though.

Bummer, glad you didn't hit anything.   I didn't notice this.

We did have some fun trying to get the longest traction control light moment on the A34 near home though.

Jeeeez - hope you're not too shaken up Surprise

Did any of your dashlights flash up?

When I spun on mine none of my dashlights flashed up and no error was found on VAGcom with my Haldex - so we put it down to diesel on the surface, however Jon has since driven the same roundabout and told me that it's pretty bad tarmac as his tyres screech round it when they shouldn't.
