So yesterday I went to look at/test drive this:

Its a 2001 GT TDi 115PS with 64k on the clock, full GT spec including Winter Pack, Climate Control, ASR, Full VW Service History, A few scratches but nothing too major, should come out with a good machine polish! There are no dents on it anywhere so theres only a few bits that need seeing to.

I have already got plans for it when I pick it up on Sunday, I am taking most if not all of the bits off of my old car and putting them on it including:

Front and Rear Black Badges
Mk5 Shark Fin Aerial
Dual Blue flashing lock pins
Aero Wipers Front and Rear
Full Soundsystem including a re-designed boot build
Cruise Control Stalk
BBS RSII 18" Alloys
Private Plate 'R* J**'

No, I use a program called VAG-Tacho to do it.

Nice find, very good mileage for a diesel and great price too.

for miles to empty you may have to change clocks though, I have a 115 on a 51 plate and mine have the wrong clocks to do it on.

hmm... Well I will be asking Kalu to do it most likely... But I will get the right set of clocks from somewhere if it doesnt already have them?

I have been busy, took all my bits out of my old car and fitted them to my new one. I have done the following:

Fitted Sub and Amp as well as new Kenwood DNX8220BT
Sound Deadened the whole boot
Fitted Dual Blue Alarm LED's
Fitted Aero Wipers front and rear
Fitted Alloys
Applied my number plate with honeycombe plates with a black border and 3D legal font
Applied Uk-Mkivs Sticker (essential mod)
Fitted a Mk5 R32 gear knob to replace worn old one
Fitted a new handbrake to replace old one with chipped button
Fitted Kensington universal iPod/iPhone holder behind steering wheel
Cruise Control
OEM Luxury Mats 
New Temp Sender
Blue LED puddle Lights
Passenger Door lock Module replaced

Particularly chuffed with the new gear knob, it looks so much better than any other available for the MK4 and has the same fitment so is perfect!

I went on a little photoshoot earlier tonight and here are some pics of how she looks now:

How much did the black headlining set you back?

 

£120 with mostly all the interior black parts including interior monitoring sensors, visors, center light, two grab handles, all three pillars (although mine is a five door so doesnt fit) I do however really like the two tone effect.

I did the boot setup, I work in a car audio shop, it cost me some left over wood, a piece of 5mm ply and some autoleads black carpet, so about £40ish?

The box cost me £20 for all the pieces of MDF and then I just put it all together, but the thinking cost me at least £250 lol

We do it at our shop, for £375 with the sub and amp included fitted, I have done three golfs and one A4 so far, my car tends to sell them lol and I get a cut of that seeing as it was my idea in the first place.

I have no spare wheel, but i do have a bottle of slime which is the american version of tyre weld, the advantage being that if you use it you can re use the tyre as it has a solvent that disolves it to allow for puncture repair. 

But..... R32's and other high performance cars dont have a spare they get a bottle of OEM tyre weld, so I dont worry about it too much.

I got it second hand, But I do think the two tone works, you have to see it to get the full effect, its more unique than just a plain anni headlining which I like.

I got it from a guy who was breaking an Anni, it was a nightmare to fit and took about 3 hours because it is for a 3 door as all Anni's are 3 door and my car is a 5 door so I had to cut it to fit properly.

Cheers for the thumbs up on the two tone, nice to know I'm not the only one that likes it.

very interested in that ipod mount. is it designed specifically for a mk4 golf steering column? got a link or price for it? the only thing that would concern me is getting tangled in the cable coming from my lighter socket.
