Right then,  decided to make my own R32 rear lights. 

Its quite an easy mod, cheap to do and only takes an hour and 1/2 to do.

Heres What you need

• Nail Varnish remover - to clean the lights, remove any dirt or wax.
• Can of Black Rear Light Tint
• Electrical Insulation Tape

where did you get that from? reckon it'd be good idea for my mkiv rears

 Got it from motorworld for £10.

I only did 2 light coats to get it that dark.  Id recommend it anyways

once the lights are off do you have to dismantle them further more?

 I'm gonna have crack at this cos it's gonna be easy to remove if it does'nt look right..Cheap too....

No , once there off thats it.  To be honest you dont need to take them out, you could just mask round the area with newspaper.  But i bought a spare set of lights off ebay for £20, just incase i fkd it up.  But you cant go wrong really!

It looks dull because i havent laquered them, was going to but i actual preferred them as they are, matt dull effect.  Pictures dont really do them justice.

Nice one, how did you find it - easy, difficult?  Did you take the lights out or mask round?

Yeh mate i took all the lights out (quite easy really) took me 90mins in  total cheers....

And as for the pink car the pic was taken with my phone....

how long do you expect the tints to last? before fading??

It doesn't fade.

Basically what you do then, is pop the lights out at the back. Clean them and spray the tint on the inside of the lights? IMO, looks good. Gonna do it today

just a little tip if you dont want the matt effect spray the last layer a bit thicker instead of misting and gives the shiny effect

i like yours they are similar to mine, the guy who tinted mine put lots of laquer on nd they really shine when i clean them

 yeah not to sure i want to do that tho, cant make my mind up i was thinking i might rebadge it with the mk6 GTD and remove the golf badge
