Hi all, well the good old reverse light switch had gone recently so found a replacement one from VW, took out the old one easily enough...rusted up so replaced with the new.... everything went smoothly but still no reverse lights.. realised the connection wasn't good, took it out fixed the connection properly and then screwed it back in.

Here's where the fun begins, turning it, turning it, turning it.... snap!!! the bloody screw has now sheared in the gear box so does anyone have any ideas how i could get it out... there is nothing to grip hold of so im not sure what to do at all.

Any help would be mot appreciated!!!

Seems like you might have to drill it out.

I thought i may have too...just going to be a pain to get a drill anywhere near it!

Just wondering if there was any other tools, as the screw itself is hollow so can get something in there...just not sure what!?

Do you mean the M6 hex head bolt that holds it in?

its the thread directly after the bolt head where it has sheared...just where you dont want it to snap when its fully screwed in... the rest of the switch has come out with the head!
