hey ya,

only owned my mk4 for a month and am still finding out bits about it. the other day i notice a glowing red light emitting from a hole at the bottom of my b pillar (between front and rear doors). im assuming there should be something that goes in this hole but i dont know anyone who owns a mk4 to check it with. the light only comes on when i have my headlights on and when my door is open.

anyone know what this light/hole is for???

also my sunroof interior lights (not the reading/main interior lights) dont work, what fuse powers these?? every thing else works in the interior

i think the one behind the seat is a 'valet switch' - have never used it myself, I don't know how it works- OI am scared to push it incase my car blows up or something... :)

 That button turns interior monitoring sensors off it is called valet mode...

 So you can leave your dog in the car etc and lock it without the alarm going off.

or your granny or anyone else you want to lock in the car! push it once when you lock the door and it arms itself the next time you open it so you can't inadvertantly leave it in disarm mode
