     I've setup my playlists so that each song crossfades into the next i.e by going to Edit, preferences, playback and setting the crossfade accordingly.

    Its fine when I play the list through the lap top but when I play through the Ipod the songs don't seem to crossfade?

    Any ideas / help appreciated.

     Is crossfade an option on the ipod? Either way, you'll need to set the option on the ipod too. The itunes preferences affect just the computer playback.

    The latest iPod Nano (4th gen) has the ability to crossfade like iTunes has had for years.

    It may also be available on the latest iPod Touch but I haven't yet used one and cannot be sure.
