    Hello,

Well it looks like I may be needing replacement discs a little sooner than hoped.

Can you give me a price for the following:

    1. Tarox 330mm rotors (£420+VAT from memory)
    2. Tarox Carbon/Ceramic pads (for b32 6 pot calipers) - (£180+VAT from memory)
    3. Rear standard GTI discs
    4. Tarox version of rear discs to match front rotors
    5. Ferodo DS2500 or tarox rear pads
    6. Fitting all that with full brake fluid change - I can supply Motul RBF600
    7. AntiTheft and Valet Mode (if you are still doing 2 for 1)

Will see what it all comes to and decide from there.
    Cheers

    Aaron

I will try to ring tomorrow but I keep finishing late!

Gonna need the front rotors soonish I think (MOT approaching and hopefully a track day).

    1. the Tarox 330mm rotors £460.00 + VAT (this is Rotors only, not the bells)
    2. Tarox Carbon/Ceramic pads (for b32 6 pot calipers) - £180 + VAT
    3. Rear standard GTI discs - £75.00 + VAT for genuine ones
    4. Tarox version of rear discs to match front rotors - £121.00 + VAT (Assuming golf mk4 Solid rears 233mm)
    5. Ferodo DS2500 or tarox rear pads - £46.00 + VAT for the Tarox
The DS2500's are incredibly expensive and aren't really that much better than the Tarox Strada rear pads!

Fitting for front and rear discs and pads comes in at £99 + VAT (2 hours labour fixed price)
As for the brake fluid change, this would normally be a set price of £59 including dot 4, so just a straight hour's labour (£49.50 + VAT) for that!

Sorry for the slow reply, just had to sort out the prices from Tarox on them!
    Regards, Al.

     Hi Al,

    Many Thanks for that.

Andy assures me replacing just rotors will be fine.

What would you recommend rear disc wise? Are the Tarox better in reality (yes its 232mm solid rear discs)?

How long for the discs and pads to arrive?

    Cheers

Yeah, There won't be any issues replacing just the rotors.

I've got the Tarox F2000 rear discs on my Bora alongside the Tarox Strada rear pads and they compliment my Tarox 6 pot kit up front perfectly!

The rear discs and pads are in stock at tarox so could be with you within a week, As for the front discs and pads, These would have to be ordered across from Italy, to you by 20th June!

    hope this helps chief,
    Taa, Al.

     Okay, thanks Al.

Can you order that for me! (Tarox front and rear pads and discs). Is it okay for delivery to you?

MOT is on 11th June so will have to hope it passes!

When can you guys fit them? Do you think there is any chance they will be in before 20th as its a saturday?

    Cheers

    Aaron

Give us a buzz to make the order mate.

As a general rule we don't place orders via Forums/PM or E-mail as it only leads to problems.

     Hello,

Any idea when it will all arrive? On the phone I think you reckoned about two weeks (but on here 20th was mentioned which is three weeks)?

Thing is I really need brakes replacing before the MOT!

Any chance of provissionally booking in for the work and MOT the afternoon of Friday 12th June?

    Cheers

    Aaron

    Hi Aaron,

I've just checked with Tarox and they have given me a "due date" with us of Wednesday 17th June (all going well) so it would probably be week after next!

    Hope that helps,
    Taa, Al.

    Alright Al,

Thats a shame. Could you book me in for Friday 19th then? I can get there for late morning. It would be for replacing the brakes, brake fluid change and MOT after that.

If thats possible, any chance of a courtesy car?

    Cheers

    Aaron

I have just had a quick look at the service sheet and the rear bump stops need replacing too. How much we looking at to have that done?

    Cheers

    Hi Aaron,

If I recall correctly the bump stops are about £12-£14 each. Labour would be £49.50 + VAT (one hour) to fit these.

    Hope that helps,
    Taa, Al.

Rear discs and pads now fitted, Shockers cleaned up, New bump stops fitted.

Just waiting on the front discs turning up from Italy - We have been promised them today and our tracking number states it should be with us 23.06.09 (today) so We're chasing it every hour. Me and Andy are both sat here with our fingers crossed.

Good news! The discs have arrived!

John is just finishing off a service and is going to jump back on yours to fit the front discs and pads.

Brake fluid change is going to have to be tomorrow morning, and once that's done we'll find out how soon we can get it MOT'd.
