     Well i thought i would do a proper build up thread, rather that just having pictures all over the shop!

    After 1 & 1/2 years of owning my 05 GT tdi, i ended up with another MK5!

    Here's pictures from the day i picked it up:

    First mod was to retro fit the Armrest

    Then i bought some roof bars & and Xenon style bulbs

    Next i decided to make my own R32 style rear lights & picked up a set of mudflaps

    Then came probably my best mod yet Smile

    Next was Metal pressed plates & Wolfsburg number plate surrounds

    Decided i needed to spruce up the interior, so got a Gti Gear Knob & R32 Aluminium Ashtray

    And the Parrot - Graet piece of Kit

    Last but not least, fitted the MFD2

    Sorry about the amount of pics, i got carried away!

    Im not sure what mods i'll do in the future, i normally just decide on the spear of the moment! Any suggestions welcome Yes

     T70MM-B  Thanks mate. I know what you mean about not liking them at first. Im thinking the same about the mk6.

    Goody - Cheers matey Smile

    Tempest - I actually got the R32 ashray for free!  I bought the armrest off ebay for £100 and when i picked it up he gave me the whole centre trim with the ashray. It was sat in the garage for about 8 months

     Here's the results from my first "claying" session.  3 Hours worth

    This ones for you Matt, De-Badged!

    1. Wash the Car with wax remover (Something like that)

    2. Dry with microfibre Cloth

    3. Clay with detailer, panel at a time

    4. Go over the clayed areas with Mirco fibre cloth

    5. Polish with Meguires wet look polish

    6. Wash car again with Meguires Nxt Gen Wax & Shampoo

    7. Dry again

    8. Curse when it rains the next fookin day! Angry

    Im not total convinced on the claying method.  Cant argue with the results but 3 hours!!!

    Looks very nice mate. Yes

    2 things I'd recommend which I've done to mine:

    * Fit GTI rear spoiler & colour code it to get rid of the horrible black plastic

    * Remap :D

    Lee

    * Viezu V-Switch With Power Map (ST3)
    * Pipercross Panel Air Filter

    MFN certainly is - sorry for the off topic post but I've spoken to the organisers and we can just send 'one' club entry over detailing all of the people/cars/tent space needed and a cheque and they will sort the rest, so I'll be doing this tomorrow Yes

    Car looks stunning after the claying. Well worth the time. Yes

    If you don't mind me saying, it would be a good idea to apply some sealant and or wax after polishing as, without it, the car will have very little protection.

    Thanks mate Smile

    I appreciate you're advise, all this "proper" cleaning malarkey is new to me!  I thought washing it at the end with the Meguires Wax and shampoo would seal it?

    What sealant or wax would you reccommend?

     Yes
