gday all right local garage has a very very tidy A4 convertible 2003 same ag as my Golf GT TDI

both done 70k both have history

i fount the 2.5 TDI engine to be a lot smoother also slightly quieter on the road test

anybody done the deed and swopped the badge ??

if so any seen problems with the 2.5 tdi or a4 ??

i cant imagine handling will be comparable but to be in the open air would be nice...

only driven 2003 a4 avant and 2007 a4 saloon but enjoyed both of those, is there any chassis flex from having the roof chopped off though?

out of interest how much would they want on top of your car?

didnt talk about p/x i was looking for a new car for the g/f but decided it might be time to swop mine

he wanted 11k for his - he did say the golf had to much money in it to trade so proberly not a tradin deal to be had full stop unless he has it another 6 months lol

i did luv the smooth v6 drive tho really impressed me

Sorry, what? Do you mean your car has outstanding finance? Otherwise, I don't see the problem with trading it in.

no mate my car and his are finance free

he wanted more cash than p/x - he would take my g/f old saxo vtr for a grand and take 10 large for it lol

ideally seeing as ive had the saxo from new and its here runaround to work best keep that and p/x the golf infact i want a newer reg 05 upwards looking about arent much more

 So a trader is saying he won't take your Golf in PX because it's worth too much? He doesn't sound too bright.

lol it was his partners car and the rest of the stock wasnt above 4.5k

yep bit weird didnt even talk figures but hey proberly doesnt want the cash who knows

they offered me 4k for mine and its done 70k and in pretty decent condition, deal or no deal

NO DEAL lol - looks like the 150 is staying for a little while longer

What do you value your motor at?

mum has a 3.0 v4 A4 cab...had it brand new from 03, 90,000 miles on and its still running smooth. its a stunning. silky smooth car to drive! Audi cardiff are the biggest bunch of arseholes though..servicing costs are plain stupid and they still cant solve problems like airbag lights and engine management lights coming on..they messed her about a lot about small niggles like that that make a diffrence. 

im not sure about diesels and convertibles to be honest..ive never thought that combination sounds right but at the same time have never been in a diesel drop top... i know we were advised to steer clear of the 2.3 as its a waste of time.

more than that they tell you the second hand market is going up lol 

the 150 had a glass's guide book price 18 months ago @ 8k - average 7k

then 4k last week against an 05 plate that was about the same condition as my 03 150 - so hardly mint - a sensible offer would'nt have been a miss

14k - 4k 10 k for his a dealer must have thought i was some simpleton which a wedge to blow - its all about a deal
