Well as some of you may know, I had a bit of bad luck with my mk4 - but this is the replacement - a 2002 Bora Sport 1.8T. I bought this car around the beginning of May as I needed to get back on the road asap; but after picking it up I had a rough idea of the route I was going to go with it from day one.

Anyway here it is in standard form.

Fitted my R32 trim that I managed to salvage from the mk4.

Some work in progress pics, spraying the valances and skirts and fitting the coilovers, plus giving the brakes a coat of red paint.

Milltek and Forge TIP waiting for their turn lol

    The finished result:

And a few pics on the club stand yesterday at Inters, for those that weren't there.

Thanks to all of my friends that have helped me get this together so quickly Smile Yes

    Comments welcome

Can't believe how much the skirts, spraying the valances and the wheels have changed the over all look ofthe car Yes looking really good and at a fraction of the cost of the previous one so I hear too Wink

Really tastefully done, do you feel more secure with the boot between you and sleeping drivers now? Stick out tongue

Very nice mate!!! The Valances make a big difference!! Yes You must be well pleased

What coilovers have you opted for?

Are you tempted with another R32 front brake setup for this project?

Will you be going down the Forge FMIC intercooler route once again? Only ask as you mentioned that youve installed a new TIP. Im trying to decide of i should go down that

Thanks Neil, I'm very pleased with the outcome - and yes definitely at a fraction of the cost compared to the Golf Smile

The Bora definitely feels safer just for having a boot; alhough some idiot nearly took me out on the M1 yesterday on the way to inters!!

Cheers - I am very pleased with it, looks way better than I had thought it would Smile

The coilovers are just the cheap ebay ones, but I can't fault them tbh.

Definitely going down the Forge FMIC route again, I just need to get the one off the Golf or try and get a good price on another one. As for brakes, I will upgrade them if some come along at the right price Wink

Cheers Yes The colour is awesome, defintely a deciding factor with the purchase... and you're right the pics really don't do it justice!

I like my sport clocks too, those, the vents, and the all red rears are all quality for standard parts Smile

As for the drive, it drives very similar to the Golf, but I have more confidence with this in the corners for some reason - and that's with less suspension mods.

That comment made me laugh when I read it!!

Coming soon will be a refurb for the wheels as they really need it, and I also want a downpipe/sports cat to squeeze some more power out of it (already been mapped etc. as well lol !)

I thought you'd do the build thread soon after inters.

It's looking stunning mate, without a doubt the best bora there at inters on saturday IMO.

Can't get over how well this colour works with the kit and wheels, makes me wish I'd still got my bora (if it had a real engine that is lol).

Really enjoyed working on the project again, and glad you got it all done for inters too.

Thought Id see this on here at some point! Looks absolutely stunning, really transformed it Yes Think the GLI front and V6 rear works really well. And the wheels give it a really good look, I think its the blue but they look far deeper than when they were on the Golf.

A real credit to you though Si to come back from what happened with a car like this, many would give up and throw the towel in but its a new challenge! And everyone knows that Bora's are the best Chuckle (well after Polo GTI's that is...)
