    Hi,

Has anybody ever used a Galletto 1260? I have managed to get my hands on one and have been playing about with it trying to read the ecu data but I am getting errors all the time from the software that came with it.

Here is what I am getting:

"Attention if you must not communicate connect 7 kline of the EOBD to pin 72 kilne ECU engine"

Then at the end i am gettting

    "errore SK1"

    "Errore silentkeylettura"

Does anybody know what these errors mean?

I know there is a risk of messing about with the ECU but I am not planning on re-flashing I am just annoyed that I can't get it to read!

    Cheers

    Graham

I don't think the Galletto is compatible with the ECU in 2.0TDI cars.  It's not listed in the options if my memory serves me correctly.

The 2.0 TDI 140 engine is listed under the Audi section.   Are you using the Galletto cable or a cheapo ebay OBD-II cable?  There may be incompatibilities between software & cable.

I have the cheapo eBayNegative thing....been reading up about it and have decided to leave well alone, it seems like a recipe for disaster to be honest.

It's not just a matter of getting the map off & on the car, which is what the galletto does, it's having the nouse/ability to interrogate & tweak the map properly before putting it back on the car.

I've got the Galletto 1260, but I still think that the ST3 unit from Chipped UK seems like the better option for the reasons stated above!
