 Can you not get it done on insurance, should only be about £50

Do you not have windsreen cover with your insurer? The excess is usually around £50.

I've recently had a price from a local windscreen replacement company, the price they quoted for the renewal was £210.

Yep, just came home from the insurance group..

The only problem is that we've made the mistake, at home.. but @ the insurance company we didn't talk about the whys and wheres,(the officer didnt ask) just he gave me a paper (should be filled out) and said, that I should go back tomorrow..

so what do u think? what should I say? or will they pay for it even if I did the damage?

about the crack: the change of the rear-view mirror caused the crack.

ps.: Never-ever try to put on the a rear-view mirror by just pressing it into the mirror holder while its on the windscreen..

EDIT: spoke with a guy who was working at this insurance group, and he gave me and advice.. the story is simple... hit by stone...

(bad luck, and lame thing, and the worst thing, that I'll must pay for it, if the insurance company won't pay)

i was quoted £500 for glass and fit

i soon went walk abouts

got it for £200 in the end

Glass is £120 ish for a windscreen from vw and about £50 to fit !

The insurance company will pay for it (finally), it wasn't a nightmare as I thought...

I need to buy the new windscreen and the glue, plus the primer first of all.Already ordered. Maybe we can start the work on wednesday.

the end of the tax is ~ 200 pounds..
