Hey guys my next mod has to be a change of steering wheel. i love the MFSW in my car but its very big even tho i love it.

I want soemthing R32 size but i refuse to lose the steerign wheel functions for my cruise, sat nav etc.

been lookin around and how tough is it to fit one of these to the mk4?

Saw a website but im not gonna pay that money for this as that seems extortionate.

We Install Vw & Audi Genuine  Multi Function Steering Wheels (MFSW) for use with Genuine Radio, Sat Nav, Phone Kit, Cruise control, Volume, Mute, Next Track, Previous Track and Scan control as well as Tip-Tronic or Shift Pedals. Please note: on some models not all functions are posible unless addional equiptment is installed. Please email or call for full functionality for your model vehicle.

Above: B7 Multifunction Steering Wheel Fitted to A4 2002 1.8T. All functions enabled. Works very well.

Above: Special Edition S4 MFSW suitable for all A4 and S4 Models 2001 Onwards..

from my experience it can be done, ive spoken to the guy on the same website you took that from, but for some reason the mk4 golf was a hell of a lot more expensive to do than pretty much any other car.

its the loom, and labour that killed it for me.

just holding out to find the part numbers i need, or find a car that is breaking with a MFSW Whistle

reason im thinking mine shouldnt be difficult is because i already have the loom and is it not a fit and recode job or are the connections different too.

i know you need the loom etc in ur car ally but im sure its not that hard to run. i know how to take out the interior of  the car. unless i imagine half of the dash has  to come off which id moe trust chris doing than me.

Taking the dash apart isn't too bad man... I was fitting the loom for my bora vents last week and thought I'd just take loads of pieces out to get to know the car a bit better lol... As long as you don't lose any screws you can't really go wrong

but if you wanted a different steering wheel, wouldnt you need different wiring? this is the impression i got?

yea i wouldnt think the wiring etc would be that bad, it would just be a matter of taking part of the dash off, and there will be a connection for it, hopefully one thats simple and obvious.

best thing would be to have a look [if possible] at what you need to size up how different the wheel fits, im assuming that you might need some sort of adaptor to fit a audi onto a vw?

hotboy836 have you done any research on which flat bottom steering wheel from the Audi range or later VW's will be compatible with the MK4 Golf MFSW controller? Smile

Will you have to modify the buttons in one of these later steering wheels to work with the MK4 Golf MFSW?

There's some info on german site how they've done it I think

Need some help with Vagcom check, Keys/Immobilser adaption, cluster swapping, Miles till Empty/Illuminated Needles, Autowindows, ECU swapping//coding etc... PM me :) Pics of the aRd automobile http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/p/239924/1548484.aspx#1548484
