    Hi guys, brief rundown.

1.8T AGU was suffering from a lack of power and after investigating via VAG-COM and then visually, I found that one of the wires to the plug for the N75 had broken right next to the plug.

A quick trip to the dealers and a new cable purchased for £1.33 and they also kindly removed the old pins and cable from the plug.

Now the thing is I don't know which wire goes to which pin position in the plug. I have yellow/black and green/brown to go back in the top and bottom postions in the plug.

    Any help here appreciated, cheers.

Hi I have the same problem. Vw say they don't sell wiring for it as it is part of main loom ? What did u ask for? Did this problem actually make you lose power as mine feels sluggish, has boosting problems and cuts out randomely cheers

First off, you will notice a lack of power if the (N75) solenoid is open circuit, as (correct me if i'm wrong folks) by default the wastgate will be left open to avoid over boosting as it wont be regulated by the N75. Best thing is to get VAG-COM on it and see what faults you have. When I took my engine cover off, the broken cable from the N75 plug was clearly visible.

VW do indeed sell the cable required with a crimp on each end.

    P V000 979 133 A (conbox wires) at £1.33 inc VAT

I cut clean through both old cables in the loom going to the N75, and then cut the new cable in half. Then spliced the now two new halves to the existing two cables from the old loom and inserted the pins in to the plug.

Cleared all engine fault codes as it threw a few up, plugged it back in to the N75 and took it for a test drive. To be honest it was like driving a new car and all boost was back. Nice to hear the turbo spin up again as with the N75 not working the turbo was bypassed and not spinning up.

    HI THANKS FOR THAT INFO

WHAT CONFUSES ME THO IS THAT MY CAR IS REMAPPED AND I HAVE A BOOST CONTROLLER (MANUAL) UNDER BONNET WHICH AS FAR AS IM AWARE KEEPS THE WASTEGATE CLOSED LONGER SO THIS MAY BE CONFLICTING WITH THE N75 KEEPING THE WASTEGATE OPEN  THE CAR HAS BEEN CUTTING OUT SPLUTERING AND THE BOOST HAS BEEN GOING WILD. I ORDERED A NEW PLUG FROM VW WILL PICK UP TOMORROW AND ILL TRY GET THE WIRE AND FIT IT . WHAT EXACTLY DOES THAT WIRE DO? DIDNT THINK IT WAS THAT IMPORTANT , AND ALSO WILL I HAVE TO USE VAG COM TO CLEAR ANY FAULTS IN ORDER TO MAKE CAR RIGHT      MANY THANKS , NAITHEN

For an explanation of how the Wastegate frequency control valve works(N75)

As you will read, that wire will control the N75 from the ECU. As you are running a manual boost controller, to be honest I don't know how it will all interact with the mods you have. That's for someone with more knowledge on here to help with and try to answer.

VAG-COM will probably give you a good insight into what may be the problem, as well as being a useful tool. What I tend to do is log what it finds and analyse the codes, work out what I need to do and do it, reset the codes and check again after a good drive.

Ok well thanks for your help. I wasn't aware vagcom worked on agu's thought was only later models. My temperature guage on the clocks keeps falling too and the rev limeter bounces and engine or exhaust starts popping. Does anyone know what else may be wrong. Surely the n75 couldn't cause all of this ??? Cheers

Na Im picking up the plug and wire from vw tomo. But car keeps playing about think something else is wrong. Keep cutting out. Rev limiter drops and stalls car and temp guage keeps falling. Weird. And I just noticed there is some black thick liquid leaking onto bumper by intercooler!! I dunno where yo start 1st lol
