hi guys just went through a speed camara but i was on opposite side of road from white lines and camara and it flashed me could  it get me for going a few miles over speed limit,i was coming up the road but camara and white lines facing down road  

Were there any other cars around? on the other side of the road?

if teh camera was facing the front of your car, its supposed to be a invasion of privacy as it could contain a picture of your face so im sure they cant do you for it

also saw on top gear that it cant do you

not sure if law has changed

needles to say i wouldnt risk it but you have a higher chance of getting away with it when its facing you

 no was just me on road at the time its a 4lanes road 2up 2down i was on outside going up it flashed me last few yards as i was coming towards it

 did it flash once or twice because my brother got flashed once and got away with it

They can and do take photos of your face now Josh to prove who was driving the car,so none of this "My mate's brother's second cousin was driving it ",and I 've never heard of it being an invasion of privacy to have your photo taken if you're out in public?

which sort of camera was it? 

i know the old ones do double flashes .8 of a second ( or around that) apart ,to prove that you crosed x amount of lines in 0.8 seconds. and use this to verify your speed. aswell as the data reading from the camera.

There are several types of speed cameras. If the camera was on the other side of the road and it flashed then you will be fine. This type of camera is a GATSO and designed to take a picture of the rear of your car.

 if its a Gatso and you were coming towards it with the camera facing you/on your right hand side, you've got nout to worry about.

theres a camera round here that flashes me on coming everytime and nothings ever come of it.

always makes me laugh when people slow down towards them facing them! the lines on our side is to get people overtaking with the camera on their left!
