Really lovely car Stu, my mate keeps trying to convince me to get a bonnet bra.

It kind of works on your car, not sure it would on mine ...

busaboy, think the r32 wheels do look good on the 5 door.... thing is there is so many nice sets of wheels out there....

i want to keep my car looking as standard as i can while still "doin it up".. i had the tt 9 spokes on it before but i wanted to get some new ones... it took me over 6 months to decide what to go for..... all that time and i still went for r32..... Smile

thanks again for the comments people....

That's so clean!  You'd never know that was 10 years old from the condition!  Cool

What polishes are you using to get that depth of shine on there?

     cheers wigster......

i get that all the time, people think its a personal plate.... when i tell them its 10 years old and done 120k they cant believe it...

i use all kinds as wash/wax/polish....

im the prep manager at an audi dealership so i get to use all the stuff we use on the cars there...........

im really in to my auto glym to be honest...

but a good friend of mine works for autosmart so he gives me lots of new stuff to try all the time.....

we use autosmart wash and wax... there smart wheels.... there polish and glass cleaners.... and if its good enough for an R8 its good enough for me.. Smile

so its a bit of a mix really autosmart/auto glym..........

but to get the deep shine i would say get ya self some carnauba wax... you can get the autosmart one on ebay i think... its the best if you ask me...

     hi dazza,

its taken me a long time to get the bodywork nice.... had the front and rear bumpers painted, to get rid of all the stone chips ans the norm marks you get on the rear due to loading in and out of the boot....

had all the dents taken out

then i just took it a pannel at a time... flated out all the scratches and marks and then polished them up the best i could....

after that its been cleaned everyday waxed up every couple of weeks...

just been looked after the best i could really.... at the end of the day its taken a lot of time and cash to get it lookin nice and i just want to look after it now!!!!Smile

Sounds like yours was lookin like mine when I first bought it. Replaced the front bumper the other day as the old one was scratched to hell and had a large scuff on the corner.Just thought Id get a new bumper rather than having the old one sprayed.Would have had to have been smoothed where the scuff was..Yeah, my rear is pretty bad as well. I know what you mean about damage where previous owners have dragged things out of the boot.Ill be doin the same to the rear as Iv done to the front. Got a dent in the rear arch that needs sorting .Also scratches on roof from where a previous owner had a roof rack fitted. So a proper pro polish gets rid of alot of scratches?? Really annoys me how much it has been neglected but Im slowly gettin there.

It will take time but if I can get it lookin anything close to yours ill be happy...Looks great!!

it might be worth taking it to a body shop and asking them to flat out the scratches and to mop it up for you... they shouldnt charge you the earth to do it and it will give you a good starting place...??

or, tyr and do it yourself... 1 little scratch at a time....

thanks for the comments tho buddy... and keep me updated on your progress...Wink

Tis a nice colour. Its unreal how much it changes when the sun shines on it. Goes from a deep blue to an almost lazer blue. I gave mine a good goin over with that meguiars 3 stage clean, polish and wax thing. Took some time to do but did look nice after. Just upsetting as when it was clean and shinny it seemed to make the scratches and chips stand out even more. Sad
