I have purchased 180degree thermostat but i have been advised not to install it as it could cause problems and just use a normal thermostat as an engine runs better between 88-90 and this thermostat would run at 80 is this right any thoughts

I read somewhere, can't remember where atmo, that an engine runs more efficiently when it is hotter.

Has it affected the running of the engine. Has it improved/worsened fuel economy.

Thats what a mechanic told me that an engine runs better at 88-92 and with that the engine expands and shrinks due to the temperature so it will cause problems as it's not running at efficient temperature

apologies, I had only just seen this.

I noticed absolutely no difference after having it fitted.
