Like what? But no, only had the car a week. Chap told me it rubs because of the 18's and I was naive enough to believe him...

Turn it as far as you can then check the wheels/arches etc see if anything is obstructing.  same for left side and spot any differences.

Ive got meh golf!!! 1.6 1999 Black. Tastey.

If the wheels are aftermarket it could be that on full lock one is catching on the arch lining or something along those lines. I agree with what has been suggested by the other guys, so while the car is stationary put in on full lock and have a look around each wheel and see if it is catching once you have found the problem take some photos and post them here.

    What wheels are they?

i've had it before when someone has done the tracking the rack gator spins with the track rod and bunches up so it jams up when you go to go on full lock one way but fine the other.

That probably sounds the closest!! On right lock it sometimes doesn't go all the way, e.g when in reverse it can lock 3/4 to the right almost like the steering lock is on. If I pull forward a bit it frees up and I carry on. Doesn't do it while driving thank god just when approaching full lock
