alright people, here's some pics of my motor. iv had her since january. it already came with vw sport suspension, black badges, stubby aerial, NUMBER PLATE! and other small things. since then ive added the 18" nouvorali alloys (powder coated in gunmetal grey and then skimmed), smoked windows all round and eyebrows.

future plans are; drop it lower, 20mm spacers on back (on order), remove rear wiper, 4mot rear lower bumper and exhaust, fit DVD headunit, black beetle turbo badge....

anyway, let me know what you lot think.

    cheers guys,

i was so lucky with the plate, it came with the car! i dont think he realised what he was selling, he didnt want anythin extra for it...

the wheels were a hard choice, i really really love merc or porker wheels on golf but didnt want to just follow a crowd, then i saw theseon ebay and there wernt many, so i just went for it. i was a bit worried but they have really grown on me.

im a memer at Club GTI, and the eyebrows are a big NO NO there. its slighty weird, anything non VAG is really frowned apon. but i really like them, and its my car so as long as i like it. bothered.

thanks for the comments peeps, keep em comin!

    Luke

    thats the attitude!
I'm not overkeen on the wheels, but they will probably grow on me as they are just so different!
I'd change the blue "I" for a red one , just goes with the black paint better IMO.

Not too shabby at all though mate nice one !

cheers mate. the plan is to get rid of that badge completely and replace with a black beetle turbo badge. the previous, previous owner changed the red 'I' for the blue one too complement the club gti badge.... nice.

Well boys n birds, it been a while since ive had the pleasure of adding an update. This is mainly due to the fact that me and the mrs have purchased our first property! Yes

but this then means less cash to plash No

but on the up i started my new job about 4 weeks ago, with a pay rise of course, and just got my first payment!! Yes

aaanyway, in a nutshell, ive bought some new goodies for the most important thing in my life, my loverly car!

    here they are....

    firstly, some FK Highsport coilies

secondly, FK 20mm spacers for the rear (3 months from order to delivery... nice one FK) and some 4mm spacers for the front, just to clear the coilies. and some adjustable droplinks to solve the ARB/driveshaft issues.

im planning a day where me and my mechanic friend can do the lot, and ive got a few other things planned for then aswell.

    CANT WAIT!

    right then,

ive had a serious car weekend this weekend! its been great, but flippin frustrating at times...

so, the coilies went on quite easily. the problem came when i wanted to adjust it all.

i wanted to go loooooow, and i knew i had to solve the ARB - Driveshaft issue. this is why i bought the adjustable droplinks. but ive come to the conclusion that they are crap. i had in my head the image that the links needed to extended to solve the clearance problem but the adjustable ones are at full stretch as long as the old ones and can only get shorter Tongue Tied. but anyway, i thought it must one of those head churning thing that are just best left to the pro's.

so, after its all been fitted. the coilies, droplinks and spacers i had to adjust it all for it to look and sit right... 4 hours passed before that happened.

so, first off we (me and my mechanic mate Taphouse (cheers boy Yes) ) set the ride hight to what i wanted. this was pretty much governed by the back as they were wound as low as pos and i wanted to gap to be quite even all round.

this was sort of a pain because when we adjust the last coil the first one seemed to have got lower.. anyway we finally sorted it.

then the ARB and Driveshaft was fowling, 'no problem' i thought 'just adjust the drop link'. but for some reason the shorter i made it the worse the grinding got with the fouling.

so unfortunatly i had to raise the front up to sort it. not really what i wanted but for the time being it will have to do till i get a bigger hooped ARB.

    (sorry for carrying on lol)

so that was Saturday 1.30pm till 7.30pm....

next day i carried on with some other mods; De-wiper the back (simple enough, the only bugger was finding a 27mm blanking grommet... thanks Ford Transit! lol) ~ bodge jobbed the Airbox ( again no real prob, just drill it full of holes!) ~ and i also fitted a fire extinguiser in the passenger footwell...

then i cleaned it... and this is the final result, i hope you all like!

The rear drop is just what i want,i will get uprated arb's so not to have the same problems as you.Once you solve these,it's going to look sweet.

Good job,and post more pics when you get the new arb.
