Lovely car! New exhaust looks nice :)

Those new wheels will suit the car far better than the others I think.

Need smaller spacers up front - took it for a drive and it rubs on dips. It's a shame as it looks good ... maybe 5mm less and I'll be golden.

Current offset with 15mm spacers is ET30. I may run without but I think a 10mm might work.

Rears are ET25 with a 20mm spacer and seem to just about clear the arch when springs are compressed.

Great choice of wheels. Must confess, I really didn't like other set.

I don't blame you. They just didn't work on this car at this height They were a good deal at the time so jumped on it. I am very happy with the Audi wheels though.
Especially as my GTI centre caps fit perfectly :)
Cheap eBay Audi ones broke as I tried to force one on as they were too large for the centre. Tried my VW ones just to see and they are perfect 👌🏼

Looks good on those, but from the pictures I would say you're about 10mm too wide all round. You don't want to be scraping that nice new paint off your arches.

Took out the fronts today and no rubbing. Back seems fine but I've not had the kids in the back yet. Will find out over the weekend when I turn into taxi dad.

In other news, I'm booked back in at GRM on Monday morning to get my resonator back in.
Need to turn the exhaust down a notch before the neighbours group together and start chasing me down the street with pitchforks ! (The wife would probably join them after I woke her up 3 times this week with the cold start !!)

Pic without front spacers. Loving how the 19's fill the arches perfectly

Maybe put the smaller front spacers on the back if the is any light touching.
I thought you might have been a bit brave going for the straight through.

All good with passengers in the back !

Yeah, I'd had reservations but it was only another few quid for the straight pipe and the videos I'd found on you tube didn't sound that offensive - but they didn't get across the amount of BOOM and Drone that is doing my head in.

My friend has the vw racing back box (basically a milltek ) on his mk7 gti , and it's fluffing loud at idle, and blaaaaarrrrrrrrrr shouty scream loud when you gun it.

He loves it .

My r32 is silent at idle and burbly at high rpm, his car is just loud !

Funny how loud these exhausts makes mk7s

I'm hoping that replacing the centre silencer is going to stop the drone.

I recorded some footage with my GoPro pointing at the tips this morning. I'll edit later and post it up. Thought I'd get some sound clips before it goes back.

I don't blame your wife or neighbours, just the removal of the back box on these gtis is just stupidly loud, and not in keeping with the character of the car.

The Audi wheels look really good on the golf , that was a good purchase

Loving the look with the wheels, need to get it clean and take it for some proper pictures.

Link to the GoPro footage. Only a couple of minutes and I kept on running out of road. but you get the idea.

The start is with a warm engine as i needed to drive far away from my house. Cold start is much louder.

As I suspected. The sound with the resonator attached is much more subtle. Only sounds louder when accelerating hard now which was more what I was after. Very happy I got it put back.

Now to keep it clean and enjoy it for a while.
