Hey guys, Thought id join this site and share my car build with you guys. Its a 2001 golf GTTDI 115, Colour is storm beige which a lot of people seem to either love or hate. This is a pic of when I got the car in July 2011. It already had some poly bushing, was lowered about 35mm on Koni springs and adjustable shocks. Wheels are 18x7.5" Kei force 10, Nice enough wheels just not very dub style in my opinion "not wide enough". Car was also fitted with a Tunit chip.

Updated information! Please don't be put off by this first picture, This old TDI does get better. haha Gets to be a lower, fatter and faster show car build. First 2 pages are just boring updates on stuff you do when you get a new car trying stuff out and so on. Page 3 on is the start of never ending build this car has turned out to be. Hope you enjoy, any questions just ask always willing to help. :Y:

Latest update! 2016 big rebuild taking place on page 21. For the second time shaved engine bay, wider wheels and arches and also new interior. Never ending build is now a serious 1 man build money pit! Also For daily updates i use Instagram as a build thread also @davobanks for pics. Thanks for looking.

The standard boring engine bay. When I bot the car I was told it was a 130 just because of the badging on the back I think, but after buying a egr delete kit I found out it was a 115 AJM code. don't think this is a problem though there doesn't seem to be that much difference between the to.

The cheap pro sport coilovers I bought just for a quick way to get the car lower. only cost 220 with the drop links witch was a waste off time didn't work and had arb rubbing issues.

Image

Did the job though the car lowered 65mm from standard much better.

25mm spacers for the back, offset down from 45 to et20 to try make the wheels sit a bit nicer as I was still not sure on them. I think golfs should have dished wheels in my opinion.

Skipping ahead 6 months or so I thought id change the car a bit. Still wasn't to sure on the wheels so thought id try change that.

Image

Full spray in same colour done by myself so not the best job ever. haha

Yip I went for the R32 kit front and sides with cupra splitter common choice I no but thought it looked good. Not genuine as you can tell but it is plastic, I made sure it wasn't fiberglass as I don't like it for body work.

Image

For the rear I went for the anni rear splitter and smoothed the bump strips out just to make it different and removed badges also smoother look.

Induction kit, home made heat shield and a ebay intercooler kit.

Image

Not the biggest intercooler but am sure its better then standard. thought it might look better in black also.

Image

Looked not to bad I thought was a pain cutting the bumper to look good with the pipes but worked just!

Good fue months on again, Time for a big change, classic wheels for the golf I think, bbs rs reps, 8.5x17 and 10x17 et35 should give me some good stance.

Image

Stretched tyres on, went for a 225/45 and 205/45 front, not a big stretch but enough for me on the bad roads I deal with.

Image

Looked as good as I thought it would.

Image

After all the working out I did to make sure they would fit with that tyres the back sits just perfect.

Image

The front however did not, had to fit 15mm spacers to clear the callipers, so now sitting out further then I wanted something had to be done to the wings.

Realy quick arch flare, roller wasn't fit to do the front but took the back out about 4mm so its fine, the front wings are about 10mm wider now.

Image

Can hardly tell it happened.

Image

Sits good now id say just need it a bit lower. What do you guys think? look ok so far?

Thanks, not to sure on the R32 head lights also think they would be to hard to wire in. In the middle off getting lots of r32 bits for the inside off the car though, seats are so dear though its annoying. Yeah the car is on air ride these are just some old pics from last year, ill put the air install up tonight.

Image

Also got a 15mm lift kit just to be on the safe side.

Image

Also thought why not fit a bigger cooler for the hell of it.

Image

When fittin the lift kit, thought id redo the boost pipes and some other bits and bobs make it look nicer.

Image

The engine bay done, well for now.

The moment you've all been waiting for Airlift auto pilot v2, expensive kit but worth every penny id say the basic kit started at ÂŁ1700 and would have been a ÂŁ1000 to upgrade to this so and I new id regret it so went all out and got the fancy 1.
Image
Hope u like?

Image

Rear bag built up ready to fit.

Image

Rear bags fitted also fitted bilstein rear shocks to as iv herd they are best with this kit. Thought id upgrade the brakes to, new calipers pads and discs and a lick of paint.

Image

The rear aired out this is how it will sit.
