My 2016 gtd gets 400 miles to a tank of diesel which i think is poor i used to get 400-500 miles in my last car 2009 123d coupe but that was 338bhp and 485ftlbs and alot more fun to drive

I don't think miles to a tank is much to go by when comparing 2 different cars...

they have different size tanks.

Owned far too many mkivs.

Yes but unfortunately i am 6ft6 and my kids are getting bigger all the time and they could no longer get behind me. Strangely enough they have plenty of room in the golf so needs must.

My gtd seems to be in passive regen alot also even when i take it for a good 20min run down the motorway @2300 rpm the revs will drop to 800 rpm then after about 200 miles its sat at 1000 rpm again which must be burning more fuel. I had a mk2 leon tdi fr about 4 year ago and that used to get well over 600 miles to a tank and when i bought the 123d i thought that was poor but once i had tuned it a few times i was happy with the power/fuel combination.

260 miles to a full tank - MK7 PP GTI driven mostly in Sport; 25/26MPG is usual. Driven in Normal I could get 30/31. So no I think the figures quoted are in Eco mode at 26MPH or something; VW and emissions hey, tsk!

But then that's a GTI...

I had a 2007 golf gt 1.4tsi for a few weeks after i sold my 123d while i found the right gtd with the spec i was after and i was shocked by how bad on fuel it was for a 1.4 engine!!!. That only got about 250 miles to a tank. Thats what put me off getting an R or a gti. Can do without visiting the petrol station for a full tank every 3-4 days

Yep, 6R Polo GTI (1.4 TSI) the same, although oil consumption in that was shocking - Golf is a bit better on oil. Don't know if VW have sorted the oil consumption in the new Polo GTI, it moved back to the 1.8 lump I think, so probably.

Brings back good memories talking about the old 6R:

You GTD boys get these as standard I think - Optinal extra on my PP GTI:

Best wheel on the GTI (the Clubsport 40 wheels are pretty nice now also..,)

Think they are Nogaro, 18" as you say. The previous (pictured) are 19" Santiago's. Maybe not standard then, lots of GTD's I see seem to have these; maybe they were standard on earlier MK7's.

Brescia I think are the nice Clubsport S wheels. There are also Quaranta (18") and a black or grey Pretoria, all 19's apart from the Quaranta.
