So I have Bora S TDI 2003 with following modifications:

17" alloy wheels
VW Recaro seats
Lowering springs
Tinted rear windows
Dash Cam
Oettinger boot spoiler
Remap
Towbar

Asked for quotes this evening from:
Sky
Greenlight
Adrian Flux
Brentacre
Chris Knott

We'll see what they offer tomorrow :)

Currently with Greenlight and I was very surprised I haven't received any renewal quotes from them, even though policy ends in a week.

I don't know i was going to ask this also, as i'm now starting to wonder why took the quote of £700 a year.... for my 1.8t being 32 i would have thought it would be cheaper than that... if flux still do it i might have to call them and cancel who i'm with.

Well no one managed to lower the price below what Flux has offered. Bare in mind, Flux is doing on the spot offers, you have to take or leave it.

So better call other companies first. However, you can pay fully refundable deposit and they set up direct debit to keep your offer open for 14 days - that's what I did. Will call them tomorrow and pay the rest.

Regarding discount - I'm mentioned uk-mkivs forum, but agent hasn't said anything about discount.

Flux were good until I made a claim then my premium doubled without my 2 years NC bonus.

Don't claim and they stay cheap I guess... Depends who's underwriting for the them as well.

I did find some decent quotes on confused from one company but when directed to the brokers website I had to enter my details again and it went up to £4k lol. The first time I rang up the lady explained that they had a new underwriter and that's why it had gone up. I rang up the next day, waited 50 mins and made them give me the original price from confused. Even though the lady kept asking me to do it online... I persisted and got it done cheap.  :Y:

Wish i could get my insurance for under £500, mine is £900 with 3 years NCB with Brentacre, although all my mods are declared and i'm 24. Dont think more than doubling the factory bhp has helped mine haha. Flux wanted nearly £2k for mine.

Also, the broker I was with gave me third party extension when I was 24 and it was an extra 20 quid this year to make it fully comp extension!

You can't cover enough miles in a tractor in a year, nor cause any damage to anything other than fields.  That's why it's so cheap.

£315 a year from Adrian Flux, everything declared. Fully comp protected NCB from flux with 10k miles and 2k business miles. The last part is the real kicker as not many companies will do business miles without a big price increase.

Always worth calling round, the diesels do seem to be much cheaper to insure. I was paying around £450 for the V6 4Mo and the PD150 is a lot quicker lol

It's so cheap because it's 3rd party only insurance in Lithuania. Also there is very few insurance scams, whiplash claims are non-existent and I believe you won't be able to find a single company in the whole country that's calling people trying to make them chase injury claims! That's what makes insurance expensive in UK.

I went to brentacre after being with Adrian "robbing" flux for 3 years. Brentacre knocked fluxs price by over £100 and all mods are declared. And will be replaced like for like in the case of an accident. Where flux wouldn't. I find the customer service at brentacre a lot better too. Some at flux can be quite rude and unhelpful.

I've had that with them before.

I just had to pay £975 with Chris Knott, best price I could get after searching for a fair while.

Considering I checked in February and my best price then was ~£450 it feels like a kick in the balls to say the least.

I think confused save quotes for a certain amount of time so usually I get on there early and keep the low quotes and edit others to check if it's gone up or down.

Insurance comparison sites track all the users - more quotes you make, more price rises.

Witnessed this first hand as I wasn't sure what car to buy, so kept entering every reg plate of cars I liked.

Prices kept rising and rising. When I bought a car, use incognito and new account from office IP to make sure I get best price.

Plus it is always worth calling second cheapest and tell them about cheapest one. If they knock the price down, call the other one and and ask for even better deal  :Y:
