Hi Guys

I'm going to have a look at a gearbox with a Quaife LSD installed. Is there a way of telling if the LSD is installed in the box without taking it apart?

Cheers

I wouldn't have thought so.

Unless you can fit it in minutes; do some sick two-tire fires and then buy it if it does.

Nope you can't see it as it is in the box... you can only tell the difference at the amount of grip the car has compared to a non LSD car....

just saw you said you are looking at a box.... in that case the seller should have the receipt for the part and of course have the box open so you can see the LSD... if he doesn't want to open it but has the receipt  not to much to worry about, if he doesn't have the receipt.... well than it's box open

That's what i thought, that both flanges would rotate in the same direction if one is turned.

According to the internet, if there is no backlash then that won't happen. But it "should".

Right, I've spoke to quiafe and they told me how to check if the box has an ATB diff in it. Need to remove the drive flanges and have a look though the diff, if there is a 5mm hole through it to the other flange it's an ATB diff. If you see cross pins then it's an open diff
